I fear that this issue is being hijacked by those with an agenda and that the actual issue of ensuring fair, even and safe competition is secondary to that agenda.
As our knowledge of genetics, gender and physiology increases it'll place more emphasis on defining the limits of what is fair in sport and it is far more complex than many of the accusations being bandied about over this particular athlete.

I would agree with you about trans women in sports. The issue is this isn't a trains woman. It's someone who was born a woman and has competed as a woman her entire career

I've not seen any of the coverage on this other than read some of the commentary on here so I don't know this situation (other than that the 2 have failed genetic tests for other tournaments).

I think there has to be allowance for"genetic freaks". They happen. People like Bolt and Phelps were physically better than others so could dominate. There has to be an equivalent for women but if the only thing that makes a female be better is because they have a hormone imbalance that makes them have male physical traits then it becomes unfair.

Unfortunately I think it is one of those situations where it is more fair on the 99.9% of other women that they are not eligible to compete as a woman than it is to prioritise the 0.01% of edge cases gaining significant advantages. There is no way you can satisfy everyone.

That’s settled then. We should decide on which males can box against females based on how many stoppages they’ve managed.

Where should we draw the line? 1 stoppage? 5 stoppages? 10?


Obviously women should take a battering until the males have reached a decent number of fights so we can judge if they’re ok to box against women.


Also, it wouldn’t matter if the male had 50 defeats on 50 fights, he’s still taking the place of a female who should be competing instead.
