Macaulay langstaff - us and coventry


This is a link to a printed Transcript • Notts Country, Langstaff, Transcript,... Macaulay Langstaff scored 42 league goals for Notts County and Paul Mullin scored 53 for Wrexham in the 2022/23 season. Wrexham finished top and secured promotion to the Football League. County were second so in the Vanarama league play off final which they won. They are interviewed by the BT Sports team at Wembley on 13 May 2023.

We’d have to loan a striker to them to make it work.. maybe Nkumrah? Who gets the better deal there tho? Bit of a novelty imo

I think we’d play Forss or Silvera up top over Langstaff. Maybe we’re looking for a right winger?

We made an offer for Amad Diallo.. apparently.. Tyler Goodrham is linked.. maybe nothing in it.. but at least he is a right winger.. so if not true.. someone thinks we’re after a right winger.

This is a bit of a weird one. What type of player is he? The old fashioned goal sniffer is just becoming a thing of the past. Like goalkeepers, modern strikers are expected to have an all round game and not just to score goals. They are all expected to track back when the dont have the ball and also be able to keep possession. Chuba's play with his back to the goal last year was amazing, especially when combining with an overlapping Giles.
I can only think that this lad has been watched by everybody but they all think that there isnt enough of the other aspects - he clearly scores a lot.

When were goalkeepers ever expected to "just score goals"?? ;)

Exactly this Newy. We all like a new signing but Forss has scored goals consistently at a higher level. If we cant get who we want happy for Forss to play there. He should be in the team really with his goals.

Look who we’ve signed recently.. or who we’ve apparently been in for..

Aaron Connolly - Brighton
Folarin Balogan - Arsenal
Cameron Archer - Villa
Tommy Cannon - £7.5m
Brandon Vazquez - £7.5m
Amad Diallo - Man Utd

Now.. sit the name of a striker down with that lot.. Jay Stansfield sort of fits.. 20/21yo prem quality striker.. £7.5m minimum

Wrexham will sign him if they go up and Notts County fail to.

At the moment Wrexham already have Mullin, Palmer, Fletcher and Dalby all scoring goals, they don't need Langstaff.
 
I feel like we either need a striker, or if you to commit to giving Forss a go up front, which I wouldn't be against, we need someone to play on the right, cause after Jones, we have limited options there, and I dunno how long Jones is out for.
