Look at the price of Man City’s home shirt next season

Apparently the £110 is 'the same as worn by the pros, this slim-fit shirt is made from breathable poly fabric with dryCELL tech to wick away sweat. It's inspired by the city's architecture, landscape, music and arts, and comes in the signature Team Light Blue colourway with all-over graphics'. As a historian working in Manchester I see very little connection between this and the architecture, landscape, music and arts.

The standard one is £65 https://www.jdsports.co.uk/product/blue-puma-manchester-city-fc-202021-home-shirt/16012613/
Taking inspiration from the city, this men's Manchester City 2020/21 Home Shirt from PUMA lets you show your support for your side. In the signature Team Light Blue colourway with all-over graphics, this regular-fit shirt is made from breathable poly fabric. It uses dryCELL tech to wick away sweat, and features a round neckline and short sleeves.

Both prices are pure madness.

A few clubs have done this recently, as well as England. If people pay it fair to the club, these people can obviously afford it.

That's what they've been doing with American sports for a while. In the NFL there are usually 3 types of shirt; Limited, Game and Elite. There are differences in materials and fit between the 3.

They are well over-priced like Man City's but the good thing is that they don't change their kit every season so it's not so bad spending $100 for a shirt that the team are still wearing 5+ years later.

We all know the shirts are a rip-off.i buy one every year and maybe wear them once around the house (after a few weeks of no food). Just a way of helping the club. I wish Boro would make better designed clothes etc most of it looks like the bargain bin at marks and sparks- horrible & I'm no fashionista

I remember getting shirts in the early 90s that were £40, it felt like they sat at that level for ages. They were always going to jump at some point. Clearly releasing the 'stupidly expensive' one makes people think they're getting a good deal if they only get the 'pretty expensive' one. They're clever these folk. I haven't bought a Boro shirt for me in years though the bairn has one.

Who's going to pay that! Especially with all this economic woe and unemployment. Crackers!

Sounds pretty snazzy to me. Short sleeves you say? Well worth the money.

Love it when things that are pretty much essential to an object are described as if they're special features.

Buy the new Skoda Octavia. Featuring wheels and a roof.

Beat me to it Mike, was just going to say the same thing! I have a mate who works for Chicago Fire MLS team and he gave me a shirt last year (they are red with a white band like the Boro...or at least they were until they rebranded this season) and it was a player-quality top ($120).....definite difference in the quality of the material!!

The normal City shirt that most fans will buy will be 40-50 quid like normal, I don't know why everyones ignoring the post above that clearly states this isn't the standard replica kit.

When you can buy a t shirt for less than a tenner in most shops, paying £110 for a football shirt that you wouldn't really wear all the time only for a match is just ridiculous. As if people pay that sort of money. Bell ends

Even £45 to £50 for a football shirt is stupid.

regardless if it's made from 'special fabrics', it still cost about a fiver to manufacture in some sweat shop, it's a disgraceful price, but.........at the end of the day, Man City were just an average meddling yoyo club until arab money purchased them success, i guess they are just filtering the cost of the investment down to their supporters
