Litter, why are people so scruffy?

That's the issue now, councils don't pick litter anymore, we are part of the Billingham group. The group as a whole has collected hundreds upon hundreds of bags.
Maybe when we don't have to social distance us as a Boro fan group could do some work together đź‘Ť
I have helped the Billingham group 2 or 3 times - am thinking the big Spring Tidy Up could be a way to get this kick started - as a Boro group, as coucils, as individuals all working together

We'd definitely help and I'm sure others who come to matches from Billingham will help as I know a few who are currently doing picks with the Billingham tidy up group

Am not sure they bother to think.
I don’t know I was in Saltburn a couple of Sundays back and the Redcar and Cleveland street cleaners and bin emptiers were there 4pm in the afternoon very high profile clearing litter etc.

Just by coincidence a few days later we also bumped into another Redcar and Cleveland worker clearing up rubbish on the Nunthorpe bypass, this time very low profile on his own but loads of rubbish bags on the back of his truck.

Maybe people see this and do just think the councils are there to clear up.

I do agree that you have to do something about it.

Another hate of mine is when dog shxt bags are strung up on trees like Xmas decorations, no excuse for that.

They often have to close lanes on the A66 on Sundays to pick up the worst of the litter flung from cars onto and into the verges. If you ever cross the footbridges over the A66 and look down into the bushes either side of the road and it is an absolutely heartbreaking sight. The worst I saw yesterday though was the McDonalds waste piling up down the grassy embankment from the Teesside Park approach road to Tees Barrage.
