I think the team that ends the game will be very different to the team that has started it and I expect Foden, Grealish, Rashford and others to be on the pitch by end of the game. Perhaps Southgate is overthinking all the available sub changes and combinations he can make but it's always a long draining 90 minutes against Germany.

Well he managed it right because he brought him on at a time when there was tired legs and space and Grealish was fresh and dying to impact the game to make himself a hero. He may of played himself back into the team for the next game, who knows. But what we need to do is back Southgates decisions because more often than not he’s right.

Have you thought that Southgate may just be lucky in that he probably has the best overall players available to an England manager since Alf Ramsey?

He can pick the wrong team and get away with it because Jack can come on and turn the game in 15 minutes.

But apart from Grealish, strikers like Stirling and Kane only need a half opening, Maguire and Stones are giants in defence and Pickford has been excellent.

I’m not disappointed Southgate is winning, I’m delighted, but I suspect he is getting away with some poor selection and tactics because of the sheer depth of talent in the squad.
