Just sack him now.

I really disagree with the argument that this squad is poor. I’m certain many Championship managers would love to have this squad. We have got some excellent championship players (McNair, Dijksteel, Bola, Fry) mixed with some exciting youngsters (Jones, Coburn, Tav) some valuable experienced heads (Bamba, Howson, Peltier), some players with the ability to make things happen from nothing (Hernandez, Watmore) and some quality potential stars who have/will play at a much higher level (Payero and Sporar). Throw in solid performers like Crooks and Ikpeazu and we really are underachieving.
We have a squad that is more than capable of at least sniffing the play off places.

Sick of seeing the manager criticse individuals after each performance. What the hell does he think that is going to achieve? Especially young lads? It’s so unnecessary and counterproductive. Have a go and point out their mistakes behind closed doors if you want a reaction, rather than publicly call them out and make them angry at you.b

It’s the Neil Warnock retirement tour, as someone said above. I’m sad it’s not worked out but after listening to him tell us over and over about how much he wanted to work for Steve Gibson so he could show him what a good manager he is, it’s time to face reality that those days have gone. Get him out before it turns really sour with the fans and tarnishes the end of a very good career.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. His quotes from yesterday's Gazette.

“So it’s a matter of helping me at the same time as looking to the future.

“We wanted to sign Peltier and Bamba and people like them because we didn’t think the squad was big enough and these guys have proven invaluable.

I just hope Gibson humours him but doesn’t waste his resources on further temporary “Warnock stop gaps”. We won’t go down.

Agree.

Building teams, means bonding, a togetherness, a buddy-buddy system where each looks after each other.
Its perhaps not the same as saving your buddy`s life, but saving the team from being psychologically destroyed.

No one can convince me that the dressing room is "positive"!.
Senior players will be looking outwards, younger players will be scared of putting a foot wrong.
All the dissent from the fans, the unmissable stirring of bad feeling and criticism on social media and players becoming pssd off - has an effect.

All I care about is my team and my club doing well, achieving, working hard together, consistency and entertaining us - thats what we spend our money for.

I couldnt give a tinkers cuss whether a dog with three legs and a carrot shoved up its arz was the Manager! If it won us the FA Cup and got us promotion - I`de give it a tin of Winalot and take it for a walk along Redcar beach.

Look at it this way, Warnock is finishing this season and that's it.
We have a really good player in Sporar who, if we had a decent season, could well sign on permanently.
If we persist as we are then the chances of Sporar wanting to stay are going to be diminished significantly.
If we want even a slim chance of getting to the PL we need more players like Sporar, at this moment in time we don't look very attractive to anyone.
Sporar will get better offers than us. I think he will continue to show his class in an out of sorts team and I would be surprised if we manage to get him next season. I don't think he is at full stride, yet.

He is retiring at end of season, I would just let him play the season out with the squad he has now and see how we get on, but have a manager lined up nice and early to replace him as soon as the season ends, with a list of players he wants to go for primed and ready. We can still make a push for the playoffs this season, it's all very close.

In an ideal world....

By January we will be firmly mid table with no prospect of the play offs or relegation. There would be no need to buy any players and pointless.

Might as well limp on to the Summer with him and get a new manager in then. Therefore we don’t need to pay Warnock any compensation.
Or we could get a manager in now who will work with these players and improve them, and use this as the transition season to understand our strengths and weaknesses so we know exactly where to improve in the summer. And considering how weak the league actually is this season, possibly sneak into 6th place

But we have seen nothing from this manager in over a year now to suggest we could be anywhere close to the top 6. He will pick up enough games against the awful sides to avoid going down, but that’s about as good as it will get if we keep him for the season

From last night's team he's probably the only one who gets into a top 3 team. I'll be very surprised if we can keep him. Can also see Payero leaving at the end of the season if he keeps up his current form.

So what do we do? Sacking him isn't the real issue, its what happens next.

We have a small squad, when all available its a bit better than average, in my opinion. All the teams with parachute payments have clearly better squads.

Fulham - absolutely they have
West Brom - again yes, but not quite the same level as Fulham in quality
Bournemouth - yes
Stoke - yes
Sheff Utd? - Not really. They got promoted 16 months ago with what was effectively a League One winning squad. They have a midtable champ squad at best and it's quite aged, half their 16 was over 30 last game
Cardiff - no
Huddersfield - no
Swansea - no, they were heavily reliant on Ayew, beyond that pretty average squad

I make it 4 teams with better squads. You could argue 2 or 3 squads in the league are on a par.

Tav was a teenager when Warnock arrive, so that's hardly surprising.

McNair isn't through some wonderful management, it's simply because Warnock was forced to play him as a CB...but he keeps trying to move him back to midfield.
it's all just luck and coincidence.. maybe some magic fairy dust has been at play?
