Italy v England at the San Siro

Been a dire match from both sides though.

Never been impressed by Italy when I've watched them, yet they're European champions.

Pick a full back at full back ( Chilwell , Trippier)
Up front Abraham, Mount, Grealish all better than Sterling.
A lot of talent wasted on a super cautious manager

Shows how little you know. Foden is first choice for City but Grealish rarely starts.
 
Do people realise that England have only beaten Italy twice since 1977? Once in a friendly, once in Le Tournoi. We haven’t beaten them in a competitive game since 1977. The England national team hasn’t won on Italian soil since 1961, and only twice in its entire history(the other being in 1948 - and both those games were friendlies).

It’s 0-0 at half time, it’s tight, we’ve been fine. This isn’t an all-or-nothing domestic league game or a computer game. It’s two evenly matched intentional teams trying to create a yard or two of space or drag a player out of position and turn him, and exploit the gap. The priority for England is to not give Italy anything at all and then take a chance when it comes. You keep your powder dry at this level IMO. We did what we needed to do in that half.

I’m not even watching it, but I don’t expect too much from this type of game.

It doesn’t change the fact that the only game this season that Foden didn’t start for City, Grealish did. After going behind on 56 mins, Pep took off Grealish and brought on Foden and City went on to win.

Also Walker started the first 6 games of the season but missed the last 3 with injury.

You’re making things up to use as a stick to beat Southgate with, so I’m hardly going to trust your analysis of the match.

No it isn't.

It's two sh** sides that can hardly string 3 passes together, stumbling over each other in midfield, no final ball, it's terrible.

I am reading at the same time with it on in the background so maybe I've got it wrong but from all the bits I've seen it's shambolic.
 
God its grim..... I don't care what anyone says its a glorified friendly.

The nations league is only relivent if you are a poor side who may struggle to qualify for one of the two major tournaments. If you 'easily' qualify like England then they are friendlies... Just under a new name.

I look at 2 sides trying not to get 'stars' injured. I can only imagine what the prem big 6 (used loosely) mangers think when watching the nations league. I imagine praying nobody gets crocked.
