It’s looking like a potential landslide victory for Joe Biden

Obama was probably the best statesman the USA have had, stop letting your right wing bias get in the way. Obama took over when the banking crisis had devastated world finances.
People thinking biden is the answer to any question are absolutely bonkers. It's those same people who claim Obama was a good president.

This election is the dampest squib for any kind of change for the better since... 2012 🤣

Mate I'm left wing.
Obama was just objectively a bad president when you look at what he did vs 'being a statesman'.
That's the worst part because he spoke well few (other than fox) actually criticised his actions.
Take a look at Jimmy dore for a critique of him.
He even had all the levers of power for a term.

On the ACA:-

'
The 23 taxpayer-funded healthcare co-ops nationwide established by Obamacare to compete with private health insurance providers proved to be unsustainable, and by January 2018, only four Obamacare co-ops remained. The Obamacare co-ops were basically the health insurance version of the Solyndra boondoggle, but bigger.

The most insulting part of it all was that despite the high costs of Obamacare, health premiums went up and coverage got worse. Remember “if you like your plan you can keep it”? That was a lie. While the Obama administration often touted the increased numbers of people who had health insurance, the number of people who delayed seeking medical care because of costs did not improve. In fact, in November 2015, the percentage of people who reported delaying medical care over costs was higher than it was before Obama even took office. So, people were forced to buy insurance even if they didn’t want it, and they still couldn’t afford to seek medical care because of the higher premiums. '

The problem was that healthcare companies have had a free pass to rinse people under republicans and actively fought against obamacare as it would hit their profits. He was too ambitious in what he tried to do, but he was fighting a system of capitalism that is endemic in the US

He had the house and the senate when he passed the ACA. Try again.

I'll try and explain the same point again if thats what you mean. Most of his party were (and still are) soft right, many Dems didn't back Obamacare as imagined by Obama and his advisors for a reason and it was constantly watered down at the behest of the healthcare industry, it's a $3.5Trillion industry it has a lot of clout. The fact they had the senate is neither here nor there, it's just indicative how Dems are soft right and Republicans are hard right, and neither really support policies that are leaning towards socialist. It's a broken system, but Obama certainly had the desire to change it, even if he was unable to. People have been crying for Bernie....but he would face exactly the same challenge. Until business is stopped from its massive influencing of government policy, nothing will significantly change for the bottom 40% of people.

Hey dress it up however you want I'm just saying he was objectively a bad president which he was.
Ticker claimed the ACA was a good thing when it was a complete failure. 👍🏻

Too ambitious?

He had the house and the senate and the best he could pass was Romneycare rebranded.

Because Dems are not true socialist, not even close, thus trying to convince them to buy into a a socialist policy against the wishes of the US healthcare industry is never going to work without a radical change to the Dems representatives....and even then they wouldn't get in. So yes too ambitious

It's not even a question of changing the democrats... the political parties don't influence policies, lobbyists do.... in the last 20 years pharma and insurance have spent $7.5bn on lobbying. But most Americans are pointing at each other as the problem. Keep the population fighting each other and you keep them from fighting you.

Dress it up as "dressing it up" if that is what works for you. Without broad changes to the Dems they are effectively Republican light.

My friend we are in agreement, I was literally just pointing out to ticker tape that he was wrong about Obama.
Just a friendly voice reigning down the same destruction as George before him.

Do you remember when you were a kid and you couldn't wait for Bonfire Night cos your dad had bought a fantastic packet of fireworks, then come 5th November he set them off in the garden and they were completely underwhelming and not at all like they looked on the packet. And it rained.
That was the Obama presidency for me.
