Israel and Palestine Conflict

Feck whats "left" and "right"!
People are being murdered in an hourly, daily, weekly, re-enactment of 9/11 and no one gives a schitt, because it serves Western [ie US] interests to pile high the bodies of Palestinian dead!
They are the "second class" "unpeople" being sacrificed to secure oil and power in the Middle East.
The racist Zionist regime is a powerful weapon to bludgeon and threaten the corrupt Arab Kings and Tyrants into line.
If our politicians havent got the balls to stand up and be counted - they are complicit in genocide and we should never forget it.

Starmer is a human rights lawyer and leader of the Labour Party. He should be very vocal about this situation but of course he took the Zionist dollar didn't he.
No he didn't, Johnson on the hand does exatcly that day after day, and not figuratively.

The issue is the country I live in both buy and sell arms to Israel. I think they are our 6th biggest purchaser of arms. Address that first.

And how should someone address that? In a representative democracy when we know the party of government love selling arms and you're apparently not allowed to want the leader of the opposition to take it up as a cause?

Is rushing to defend Starmer less "political" or whatever than rushing to attack him?

Just a couple of devils advocate points to consider Laughing. I have to admit it doesn't really make much difference to me what Starmer says on the matter, but as I said I don't think it's unreasonable of people to want him to be saying more.

And what if that is all they have to say on the matter?

I believe Israel has the right to exist and defend itself but I think they’re seriously overdoing it, as they’ve done many times before.

They have the power but they need to be able to show restraint. Their latest strike has killed 10 kids.

Why shouldn't it be? I'm not really sure what you're getting at? What exactly do you want them to say?
If the first thing that comes to your mind is that the Labour party are not doing enough, then you are either using the deaths of innocent people to score a political point or just don't care. I struggle to see how you can first think of Starmer when kids are dying. Think of how abhorrent the Israeli state is, think how destitute we are as a nation selling arms to the israelis, wonder why our goverrnment stands by and does nothing, consider how you would feel if it was your wife and children being bombed out of their home, left bleeding a and dying on the streets that used to be their home.

Erm no, let's blame Kier Starmer, cos I don't like how right he is.

But nobody is doing that you big silly billy. Try reading the words that people are typing.

I've read them bumface. I am incensed that people would rather call Starmer out than talk about the issue. It's not all or most, but there ae some. Starmer is not the problem, he is not even part of the problem, he is inconsequential to the problem. Not one comment on this thread calling Johnson out, by name, for complicity in genocide.

Looks like Kata'ib Sayyid al-Shuhada and Harakat Hezbollah al-Nujaba militia groups are now on the field in support of Palestinians

She might have done more , doubt it would make the headlines.
What would you like her to do ?
I guess you're right about the media. Probably wouldn't give anyone a platform to say anything pro Palestinian rights but she could still be shouting from the rooftops about these war crimes and trying to mobilise people and organise protests to try to put pressure on the Tories to effing do something.

So many awful videos coming out of Gaza showing death and destruction.

Where the **** are the UN and their resolutions now?

Wonder where Putin sits on this

Jeez, times are seriously bad when we look to the likes of Iran, Syria, Russia, Hezbollah to help out those Palestinians being executed

She might be doing lots of shouting but is anyone listening?
Most of the MSM carry a Israeli slant.
As someone said yesterday the reports always seem to start with Palestinian reaction rather than looking at the causes of that reaction.

Think you were underplaying it a bit with that phrase 'carry an Israeli slant'. Propaganda pure and simple. What the Israeli forces are doing is a perfectly reasonable and measured response to Palestinian aggression according to most UK news sources. Crazy stuff. Maybe I am being a little unfair on Nandy but I'm just really F***ing angry about this whole sorry mess.

Like I said Laughing it doesn't make much difference to me what Starmer says about it but I don't begrudge anyone mentioning him.

You've gone from 1) people shouldn't be mentioning Starmer, to 2) people shouldn't be mentioning Starmer unless they're also saying X, Y and Z, to 3) people shouldn't be mentioning Starmer unless they're mentioning Boris. Which makes it seem a bit like your main priority is that nobody criticise Starmer. Brings me back to my earlier question; if people being political is so distasteful what's the difference between criticising or defending a politician seen to not be speaking about a political issue?
