Israel and Palestine Conflict

Indiscriminate rocket fire in urban populations and the targeting of innocent civilians. Hows that for context.

A population living in dire poverty yet hundreds of rockets fired. The sky’s is alight while the poor and destitute starve.

This has nothing to do with rockets or rocks.
This is about forced evictions of Palestinians from their homes every single day and night of the year.
Extremist Right Wing Ultra Orthodox Zionists running through East Jerusalem shout "Death to Arabs" and attacking men, women and children indiscriminately in the street as Israeli Occupying Police stand by and watch.
This is about 70+ years of the "Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine" [ llan Pappe - celebrated Israeli Jew and campaigner - One Word Publications 2006]
Its about over 800 Palestinian children held in Israeli jails in indefinite detention without trial - some as young as 12.
This is about the confiscation of Palestinian land from farmers tending their crops by force and the forced demolition of Palestinian homes using JCB`s as the IOF protect them from Palestinians protesting the demolition of their home.
Its about the "Administrative Detention" of Palestinians in Jail without recourse to family visits, lawyers or appeal.
Its about the "pass laws" [see apartheid South Africa] stopping free movement for Palestinians.
Its about the "Nation State Law" which protects the rights of Israeli`s not Arabs.
The state does not recognise marriage between Jews and Arabs.

It denies Palestinians the right to buy homes in areas where only Israeli settlers are allowed to live - that is racist apartheid.
Its only when Palestinians resist that the western cameras turn to portray the victims of racism as the perpetrators.
If anyone has been to Palestine with open eyes you will see and understand what is really happening.
Its about a lot more than the lies and distortion on BBC / ITV and Fox.

Criticism of Israel is conflated with hatred of Jews and the spectre of the Holocaust.
Criticism of the Israeli regime is no more anti-semitic than the criticism of Apartheid South Africa was about hating Christians.

For me - I support JVL [see article below] who are a Jewish Organisation - set up and run by Jews, who are against the occupation and ethnic cleansing of Palestine. When you hear The Jewish Chronicle and the Board of Deputies talk about "the Jewish community" - they speak only for zionism and those who believe in the Israeli occupation and repression of human rights to Palestinians.
I, like JVL, and many others - whose voices are silenced by national media - believe that all ethnic groups in Palestine should have equal rights and Palestinian land must be returned to the Palestinians. Thats not driving anyone out or denying statehood - as is denied the Palestinians.

Ive met members of The Christian Peace Teams [ https://www.cpt.org/] in Hebron and Jerusalem who use non- violent risistance to the occupation - who face the same oppression and imprisonment as Palestinians. I`ve also met and worked with Israeli Jews who face persecution and violence for speaking out against injustice in Israel. Those brave few Israelis who stand up to be counted are condemned and imprisoned without trial and their families persecuted. The state deliberately denies one ethnic group the same rights as another - thats not democracy. I worked alongside Arab Lutheran Christians who held annual peace festivals and provided education for International visitors - they had members of their church in Germany visit for education in the summer - but they were attacked - their land seized - their crops uprooted - sewerage and rubble dumped by settlers in the entrance and the fences protecting the farm pulled down. Every night you could here the sound "wall" which was blasted at the Arabs by the Israeli Military - it meant sleep is constantly interupted - deliberately. If you`ve experienced "white noise" - you will appreciate what that does and how it affects the mental state of the victims.

Palestinians are forced to have different coloured number plates to the Israeli`s and are not allowed to drive on the same roads. Palestinians are resticted to Areas A, B and C. The Christian owner of the farm I worked on lived 10 miles away from Bethlehem, where his mother lived - but he was denied the right to a pass to see her! This is a common practice right the way across the West Bank. It is deliberate policy by the State [not Judaism] to persecute the Palestinians and drive them out of Israel - which is their country.

If you get the opportunity, go and see how the ancient Christian sights are smashed and damaged by the IOD and how Christians are frequently and indescriminitely banned from using their churches and places of worship. Its not just about Muslims - many Arabs are Christians who are beaten and shot just like other Palestinians.

The crimes of the state go on systematically every day and night with Palestinians forced to live in squalor in forced refugee camps - which Netanyau has sanctioned and encouraged. Anyone who ever believed the "two - state Solution" is blind. Israel justifies its racism and ethnic cleansing by playing the victim - with 8 billion US dollars of military aid every year - by annexing the Golan Heights in 1967, by expansion into the West Bank and illegal annexation and occupation of Palestinian land - by possessing enough nuclear weapons to destroy the planet [See Mordechai Vanunu מרדכי ואנונו- former Israeli Nuclear Technician - now an international Peace Campaigner - he blew the Whistle on Israeli nuclear proliferation and was imprisoned for 18 years - 11 in solitary confinement] ( )https://www.vanunu it builds drones and weapons system [in the UK and elsewhere] which it describes as "field - tested" - which in truth means tested on live Palestinians - captive in their own land.

Go and see for yourself.

Written in Hebrew on that home made banner by an Israeli in West Jerusalem reads "We Never Were A Democracy" - during a protest against Netanyau in West Jerusalem. Netanyau is facing jail for corruption.

"When a stone confronts a rifle"

by the International Jewish Collective for Justice in Palestine

Mon 10 May 2021
When a person holding a stone confronts soldiers who are armed with rifles, ask yourself why they are willing to do that.

On May 8, 80,000 Palestinians came to stand in front of rifles and pray at the Al Aqsa Mosque. They overwhelmed the rifles with their numbers and spirit. We stand with them.

We deplore Israel’s violation of sacred space during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. We are horrified by the mob violence and the paramilitary police who enable it. This is not a ‘clash’ between two opinions, this is occupation and apartheid at work.

We reject Israel’s campaign to dispossess the Palestinians, including current efforts to evict families from Sheikh Jarrah. The New York Times notes, “A spokesman for the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Rupert Colville, said Friday that the evictions ‘would violate Israel’s obligations under international law’ prohibiting the forced transfer of residents from occupied territory…. [Aryeh] King, the deputy mayor, said ‘of course’ [the evictions] are part of a wider strategy of installing ‘layers of Jews’ throughout East Jerusalem.”

We say, stop the evictions, and get the Israeli settlers out of occupied East Jerusalem. This is ethnic cleansing.

Israel’s refusal to vaccinate the Palestinians whose land it occupies in Gaza and the West Bank has been condemned by UN Rapporteurs as “discriminatory and unlawful.” Covid is rampant and we plead with our governments to provide the lifesaving assistance that Israel is withholding.

We call for an end to Israel’s impunity. These are crimes. We must begin to respond to them as crimes.

We hold the Palestinian protestors in our thoughts.

It’s 2021 and man’s hatred of man is still as primal as ever and as always the innocent will suffer as the guilty unleash their hate, you’d have thought 3.3m dead to an indiscriminate virus might have caused pause for thought but no the first acts are to discriminate through violence. Sometimes I hate the world.

One day in Palestine:

As a poster above said, the destruction of Israel is all that matters to a lot of people including those in power and who wield influence. Until that level of hatred and blatant anti Semitic attitude is rooted out Israel will have a hard line agenda.

No.
Israel [NOT Judaism] is the perpetrator.
Israel [The State regime] is not the victim, it is the attacker.
It forcefully evicts and imprisons innocent Palestinians from their homes.
The Israeli State [not the Jews] is a racist rogue state - support and funding from the US and arms sales to Israel by UK is nothing to do with Israel "defending itself". It occupies a strategic part of and plays a leading role in middle east politics - to the benefit of western interests. It regularly makes incursions into Syria, the Lebanon and the West Bank using the latest American Fighter jets armed to the teeth. It employs tanks to flatten villages and kill palestinians.
Zionism is racism and fuels anti-semitism.

You may call me "anti-semitic" and my Jewish colleagues "anti-semitic" [or as the Zionsts label them: "self-hating jews"] - because we believe in equal rights for all ethnic groups and a return of stolen land to the Palestinians. It is theirs. Israel is rightly accused of racism - its not anti-semitic to say I support the right of Palestinians to the same rights as Israelis.

"Hard line"? No.
