Israel and Palestine Conflict

I absolutely abhor the treatment of the State of Israel towards Palestine and agree that Israel is by far the worst offender, recognition of Palestine existence is considered anti-Semitic, but at this moment in time the focus should be on stopping the slaughter of innocents on both sides, a dead Palestinian mother and child or a dead Israeli mother on child fill me with the same sense of disgust, the only way a lasting peace will be found is to reach agreement which means not wholly taking one side or another, that can come on another day where blame can be apportioned and wrongs made right, the focus now should be on doing the uncomfortable things that can lead to a ceasefire and lay the bedrock on proper negotiations on a lasting peace, including stopping weapons dealing with Israel and taking a hard line view on acts of war from either party.
You are right about the killing of innocents AM, however, transplant the attrocities to europe, say the germans were doing this to britain, we would react in exactly the same way the Palestinians have reacted.

I don't believe you can negotiate with Israel. Until we and the USA put brown peoples lives before money and stop selling arms to Israel, their behaviour will be legitimized and the slaughter will continue.

I understand your desire to stop the slaughter on both sides but "the only way a lasting peace will be found is to reach agreement which means not wholly taking one side or another" suggests that a third party can broker peace. The truth is that one side could put an end to it today but are showing no appetite for it because they have too many friends in high places.
 
If people want to know why the Israel gets so much flack search for the hashtag covid1948 on twitter. I'm not linking here as there are disturbing images but quite frankly it's appalling stuff from Israel.
 
Difficult issue to talk about after the last 5 years. It's not just Corbyn. Bernie Sanders, Norman Finkelstein, and Noam Chomsky have all been slandered as anti-semites for expressing any disapproval with Israel's actions which seems ridiculous to me.

I think it's a bit pointless to talk about ceasefires and lasting peaces. Deep down we all know it's not happening don't we? Where's the political will or leadership to achieve it?

Hypothetically, if you were a new MP would you be up for saying anything about the occupation? Knowing it could mean the character assassination kicking in and ruining your career?

Palestine wasn't even ours to give away. If there are any historical apologies to be made we should be making one for this sorry mess.
 
Rockets have been launched from Lebanon now aswell although early reports say these are just 'chancers' and nothing to do with Hamas or Palestine.
 
Wonder how some on here as members of the "Biden Fan Club" or the "Anyone But Trump Club", or the "Fox News Bad, CNN Good Club" can justtify this....
