Isaiah Jones

He was excellent today, I’ve been very critical of him for two years, but if he regularly repeats what he did today I’ll change my mind

People might not agree with me (and normally I'd disagree with what I'm about to day) but against Bolton we should be playing our full strength team, the team needs game time to gel, they need the consistency of playing with each other!

It's looking more likely that we won't have any new signings by Tuesday either so let's just go with the team that will probably play at the weekend! Hopefully spank Bolton by a few and go into the weekend with a bit more confidence

Im not against that idea, in fact it sounds sensible

Would it not also be a good opportunity to try something different, like 4-4-2 and playing Lath and Forss up front together. Or maybe a 3 man midfield of Howson, Hackney and Barlaser?

We know it will be the same tactics and formation though, with no doubt Crooks up front, and probably McNair at right back again.

You just can't predict what Jones is going to do,, I know he's had difficulties and that has impacted on his consistency but he could have a stinker or a worldiie on Tuesday🤷🏻‍♂️, I would love it if he went back to his Wilder break through year level of consistency.

I would play Coburn up front on Tuesday, he hasn't gone yet and neither do we have anyone else in, he needs match time just in case he stays.

We’re seeing this a lot…

sammy has a few good preseasons and needs to start?

he drops forss and mcgree, but they need to start…

he keeps mcgree on the bench, he needs to start…

isiah has a good subs appearance, he needs to start…

but when they do, they don’t have the impact they did when they came off the bench and the fans are back to saying someone else needs to start…

I thought he reached his ceiling?
Intelligent debate about football seems to in the out pile, he made a difference today and played well when he came on. Long may this continue, I personally thought his contribution when beating 3 players with one movement was outstanding.

I have and only want what is best for boro, I would love jones to become a world beater more than anyone on this forum.

FA just wants to take the **** it seems as per.

I'd maybe consider playing him off the left I think, or at least try him there for a game or two, he looked good there today when he came on, not to say he doesn't look good at times from the right, but if he gets in behind or he goes round the full back to get in goal more often than not he'll do something like smash it in to the side netting or something cause it's not a great angle for a right footer. Could be effective giving him a go off the left to be able to cut inside on to his right and make the most of his shooting that way, he was unlucky yesterday hitting the post out of nothing, play him more as an inside forward than a winger.
