If we sack Carrick and appoint a new manager before the international break.....

He won’t put up with this much longer

We sold our top striker from under
Him and never replaced him
I genuinely feel your frustration Jedi

I agree those last 2 lines are accurate, we did sell Akpom, I am sure Carrick would have wanted him to stay. It is also true we haven’t replaced him based on the evidence so far, its undeniable. However, I think the club were given no choice by Akpom himself and therein lay the crux of the matter. The choice the club had was to keep him for another season and him leave on a free, break their pay structure significantly or take a low ball sum that nevertheless was helpful to the finances. I don’t see Gibson as having much choice, particularly when you know you are losing Archer and Ramsey and the risk he may even prove to be a one season wonder. Chuba did what was right for him, given how he was treated in the summer of 2022, who can blame him. He turned down a Champions league team too to play in a lesser league, maybe the No10 Ajax shirt had something to do with it, maybe Chuba himself felt he’d more likely score goals in Holland rather than France.

Carrick claims he is happy publicly, he has to, its his job to sound positive, but I agree with you that the club appear to have failed to do so with Championship ready players. Given time, something thats rare in football, someone, hopefully Carrick will get a tune out of some of them. We have seemingly signed a bunch of Fletchers where there may or may not be players in there. I hope Gibson gives Carrick time and that Carrick himself is fully as bought in as he himself suggests, like you I’m not convinced though and I fear Scott may not be the messiah we hoped he’d be. If the project fails and someone carries the can, it should be Scott, but I fear it will more likely be Carrick in the short term sadly. It may even take another couple of Head Coach’s before the penny drops. Lets hope the penny drops before the Boro though and there is still a chance things may turn out more positive than we’re seeing right now.

Coluka Carrick hasn't hinted at being happy with the playing squad. He has repeated it over and over even when unasked. I think he is happy with the squad. I don't think he would emphasise that if he weren't.

It's strange that people will believe an unsubstantiated rumour about Mcgree but ignore a statement from the manager.
