If there was a General Election tomorrow...

Hopefully you'll agree with Carla then.

“There’s not a single tangible benefit for the UK as a result of Brexit. It has been all pain and no gain. Every household is on average £1000 poorer [1] than they would have been if the UK had remained in the EU. Meanwhile, the EU Retention Bill threatens to make a bonfire of laws agreed in the EU that protect the environment and human and consumer rights [2].

“It is clear that the UK would be in a better position socially, environmentally and economically if we had maintained our place in the EU. That is why the Green Party is pursuing a policy of re-joining as soon as the political situation is favourable to do so.

“In the meantime, we believe that many of the worst problems created by Brexit would be eased by re-joining the customs union, negotiating the return of free movement of people between the UK and EU and signing up to a comprehensive agreement with the EU covering the protection of human, animal and plant life.

“Young people in particular are losing out. They didn’t vote for Brexit and most feel they are at heart European. Yet they are missing out on opportunities to explore, study and live on the continent. It is therefore vital that the UK continues its participation in the Erasmus+ scheme.

“Labour have thrown in the towel on Brexit. Their refusal to challenge in any serious way the extreme Brexit being pushed by Tory hardliners means only the Green Party is prepared to expose Brexit for the disaster it is and support rejoining the EU when the political circumstances are right.”

You're not convinced by Labour's plans on Brexit then?

They're going to train the public and increase workforce skills

It sounds like everything the Tories promised they would do after Brexit but never did

Better to talk in terms of public schoolboys rather than Oxbridge. As earlier said it gives a bad name to those who applied there/got in from normal backgrounds.

Labour for me. In a Labour seat, like my local MP, not a fan of Starmer at all but far better than the alternative.

I live in an area that will vote for Labour whatever I do, over 60% last time out. It's been a Labour safe seat since a marginal Tory win in the 80s.

If there was a chance Labour would lose I would vote for them but there isn't so I won't. I don't like Starmer, at all, and I don't like the way he has taken the party and I don't want him using my vote as evidence that I support anything he says or does.

Don't tend to have many left wing options and I don't agree with them on a lot of stuff but it will probably be the Greens.

Conservatives - taking public money and giving it to their mates, driving up the cost of everything, HUGE Debt
Labour - wannabe tory lite, Cameron/Clegg era coalition type party, John Major Conservatism thatcher+ Blairites
SNP - because why would you want to be part of all of this, Westminster is an absolute cesspit
Plaid Cymru - as above, westminster does not represent the north, or wales
Greens - Like Labour used to be, as with the SNP and Plaid Cymru, but with a rejoin position on the EU and an obsession with badgers.
Lib Dems - urggh have they ever done anything other than keep the conservative in power?
Reform UK - The Brexit Party, UKIP, BNP whatever you want to call it.. Facism.. it's taken over the Conservative party and I honestly think Farrage will be the next Tory leader after a bit of entertainment washing from ITV.. a £1.5m three week long party political broadcast about immigration, taking back control and carrying in in the face of adversity with a stiff upper lip.

I would vote SNP if I had the choice and have us re-join Scotland. 2nd choice would be Plaid Cymru.. i'd happily be part of East Wales, the Greens.. maybe because the offer more of what I want.. i'd like to think that it counted for something. I'll probably end up voting labour.. a disappointing lying labour is better than a cruel and corrupt conservative party.

No, I can only take them at their word and what they're promising is just an attempt to mitigate rather than solve systemic issues caused by Brexit. I obviously support the idea of investment in the workforce, education, NHS etc, but they're going to be left in such an economical hole by the Tories they will only be tinkering is my guess.

I work for a company that trades across Europe and it's just more difficult to do business now. The idea of going into a Customs Union would help in that respect. I also think we'll see a growth in environmental concerns and The Greens being at the forefront of that is something I support.

However, if I lived in a marginal seat I would vote for whoever had the best chance of getting the Tory out or stopping one get in. It's not just their ideology and attitudes; the current lot are plain incompetent.

The FMTTM "clique", following a meeting of the Central Committee, have ordered all cliquists to vote for Redcar Bears or the Communist Party [If either stand in the election]✊

Why don’t ex-forces set up their own political party?
Oh, it would involve them spending their own money.
Labour… reluctantly. Since I moved we have one of the worst Tory MPs going, I expect he will get back in.

Fair enough

I will have to put on a full hazmat suit and put my cross in the red box. I don't have any other realistic choice.

Personally I want the Greens to drop their rejoin plans

Most rejoiners won't vote a left wing party anyway. Seems to me the rejoiners hate Socialists, Owen Jones, The Greens, Corbyn etc etc

You're just a bunch of shy Tories really
Damn. I must not exist.

If I was voting purely with my conscience it'd be Green, but I'm not. The reality of this country's political set up, having left the party due to Starmer's axing of the left, means I'll be voting Labour in order to rid us of these heartless, bent b'stards. It really is the only show in town.

Do the green party have rejoin in their manifesto?

To be clear no party can have rejoin in a manifesto because it will take more than one parliament to rejoin.

Specky it really is a silly argument.
Having a policy ideal isn't the same as committing to a manifesto.

I want us to rejoin but am not naive enough to think that it can be done quickly and maybe it can't be done at all. If parties who support that idea, I hope that will stimulate the debate and the leaders of the main parties are encouraged to change their stance.
