If Keir Starmer is Prime Minister later this year, what can we expect from Labour to make this country better?

Don't expect anything spectacular other than the finding of dodgy dealings by the tories.
Far too much damage limitation to be done before any real changes might appear.
You might see a significant reduction in venal nastiness.

Honestly probably nothing immediately from the actual Starmer government. But if the stuff on the polls thread comes true and the tories get reduced to a number of seats that irreparably damages them then hopefully we'll eventually benefit from that.

We desperately need either the Labour party to move back to democratic socialism or a new (or newly relevant) party to challenge them from their left though. My worry is that without that the gap is filled with an even more right wing tory party to come back into.

Print more money

I don't think that's especially likely. At least not more than a tory government would do the same anyway. Reeves has been pretty clear she won't borrow to invest. Personally I wish this one was true!

They won't make it worse

Depends on your perspective! All the stuff Wes Streeting says he'll do with the NHS sounds worse to me!

Not give hundreds of millions of pounds to his mates

Probably not as brazenly as the tories. But worth remembering the party under Starmer have very deliberately solicited donations from companies and wealthy individuals. It'd be naive to think their donors are all just altruistic.

You might see a significant reduction in venal nastiness.
The denormalisation of acting like a massive çúnt in public.

Not sure about these. It's not like the party under Starmer have done anything about Rosie Duffield?
