If Carrick goes over the next few weeks

Who realistically replaces him?

The lack of known, available options is one of the few things in his favour at the moment.

Gibson never pays compensation for in-work managers so we'd probably be looking for out of work managers such as Frank Lampard (yuck), Dean Smith, Jesse Marsch, Javi Gracia and Nathan Jones unless we did a Karanka and went for an overseas coach.

Absolutely ludicrous statement Norman, Pep would have this team top 6
That’s rubbish. Look at the Ipswich and Preston squads.
Both of you have made it clear you would like him to go on this thread and many other threads. I wonder if you wanted him to leave when he was nominated for manager of the month in November, January and February or when he won it in March?

We can't keep on sacking managers and expect to improve the team, it just doesn't happen.

I have actually reigned back that impulse Norman. I will however still call out your silliness...

Pep with this squad would march us up the league

You don’t tend to sack people when they’re doing their job correctly. He’s not been doing his for a long time now.

We haven’t won a league game since April. We’ve kept 2 clean sheets in our last 20. If our form over the last 15/20 games was projected over a 46 game season we’d be stone dead last.

We’re currently bottom, facing a relegation battle to avoid League One.

If this was Pulis or Warnock I guarantee you’d want him sacked as well.

Maybe the reason people would like to see MC stay is because they don't have short memories - I can honestly say that last season was the most excited I have been about seeing the Boro play in a long long time. OK he is finding it a bit difficult atm but he is a clever man and he will turn it around.
The football style we played was incredible so he deserves the chance to turn this around - he did it last season.

That was just me being sarcastic to the pathetic calls for his head so early in the season but truthfully, I'm not sure Pep would get a tune out of them but that's my opinion and yours is he would. Too many of the team are out of sorts together and injuries have impacted on a settled team. We've got McGree who looks unfit and a yard short of what he offered last season, Crooks is struggling to last the 90 minutes, Howson is out of sorts after his long-term injury, O'Brien is settling in and will improve with games and I am sure he will improve Hackney's game. I don't think we have played the same back four twice this season and this is due to injuries, bans and poor recruitment.

I didn't want either of them in the first place.

Why all of the talk about him going???

Pep would struggle to get this lot playing well.
Out of desperation. We can't wait till January for things to get better so if Carrick can't start getting some results with these players then we will have to give someone else a shot.

I'm not saying it's what I want or that it's fair for him to go but realistically it's the only change we can make. Sacking Scott (who is the man who should carry the blame for this sh1t show) won't yield immediate results. Sacking Carrick might.

As much as I really want it to work out for Carrick and I hate the fact that I am starting to consider the fact he might have to go, he's not doing himself any favours with his selections at the moment.
