I'm glad they've started announcing some policies but even here there's a lot of repetition to pad it out.
"Use sun and wind to reduce energy bills" and then 2 lines down from that "publically owned, renewable GB energy company".
"Invest in warm homes for all, cutting bills", and then 5 down from that "Insulate 19 million homes".
"A green industrial revolution", "plant 300m new trees, and restore existing green sites", "introduce emergency environment act to tackle climate crisis", "£28bn climate pledge" - they're all the same policy.
"Invest £10.8bn in social care, and introduce free personal care", and then 4 down "a national care service".
I'm not complaining
it's an improvement on a few months ago although obviously nothing like as transformative as the last few platforms would have been. I just think its a bit pitiful for the party to start crowing look at all our policies with memes that embellish quite a lot.
And of course the whole list has to be caveated with the fact that Starmer's unreliable and untrustworthy. All/any of these policies will be in the bin if that's what Mandleson or a big money donor demand.
