Howson

Thats an interesting idea. Spence was ok tonight but hes not a winger or a midfielder. Dijksteel Cm and Spence at RB. Thats where Dijksteel pkayed for Charlton

To be honest I wasn't too impressed by Djiksteels' performance at RB either tonight. He was frustrating me 2nd half when he kept coming inside with the ball, especially as he had a couple of opportunities to whip the ball in.

When he challenges for the ball one on one you always feel confident he's going to win it, so why not try him in midfield and we can hopefully start winning the midfield battles. We were weak as pi$$ in there tonight and they knew it, hence why they kept running at our backline. Happened a few times vs Bristol City as well.

Sounds an interesting idea like. Looks a good footballer. Not so sure hes a rb though. I thought he was pretty good tonight. But as you say cut inside to square balls accross the box that lead to nothing when it was easier or better to cross

I've said it for well over a year, his legs have gone and he is heavily involved in many goals we concede.

It was a bad decision to play McNair and Howson tonight because neither are top half championship Central midfielders. I hope Payero gets up to speed in the next couple of weeks and Tav gets back fit, to oust those two.

Agree I think djiksteel could be great there he's athletic and has the energy levels needed to breakup play a bit like boateng did for us so well.

Atrocious tonight. Totally anonymous other than when he was making mistakes. Conceded three goals that were totally avoidable. All obvious but its the same every week. Jones looks a player though
Agree .Forgot he was playing until leaving the stadium .

When Tav is fit he'll surely replace Spence. As for Payero he looks weeks or months away from being a first choice player and neither is a defensive midfielder. McNair and Howson on current showing are passengers but we only have Morsy to replace either of them. If NW is determined to play a back 5, McNair should be back in it with Morsy replacing him in midfield. Howson should be benched and perhaps Watmore (when fit) can come in.

Tav has himself and various managers said that he is ultimately a central midfielder. He has the energy and tenacity to break things up, and the ability to start attacks from deep and join in. I think his real position is an 8. In a midfield 2 he could play with Morsy. In a 3 he and Payero in advance of Morsy would work.

We also have Crook who is by trade a utility CM, can pay CDM, 8 or 10. If I was greedy I would love another CDM option, but not sure we will get that unless we move McNair or Howson on.

I’d love to see Tav, morsy and payero. Tav is definitely a hard worker and payero looks to be. Should be creative going forward and still decent at the back. Unfortunately I doubt we’ll see that midfield under Warnock

No where near it tonight. Very worrying performance that.

To be fair I've not seen any games live for ages (obviously) and watched Fulham on my phone. But other than ten minutes at the end of the Fulham game he's been atrocious every game pretty much since January.

He's not a good captain, or footballer currently.

Although he isn't amazing we need Morsy anchoring, with two others either side of him to get up and down.

Probably from Tav, Payero, Crooks, McNair and Howson in that order if no signings are incoming.

Or we need to change formation.

Hopefully the Dutch lad and Sporar will give us a few more options than playing Spence as a winger and Ikpeazu on his own.

If there's no more fullback and centre minds incoming we could maybe go 3-4-3 or 3-4-1-2.

We don't have many options player wise at the minute.
