Atrocious tonight. Totally anonymous other than when he was making mistakes. Conceded three goals that were totally avoidable. All obvious but its the same every week. Jones looks a player though

True but i dont really know what the plan in the middke of the park was. Bristol at the weekend could just walk unopposed from box to box.

I’ve been saying this about Howson for a long time. He’s only good at being a pest and hoofing it forward at quickly as he can. He doesn’t offer anything else.
 
Of course he will. Anyone else wouldnt be after that but his reputation rather than his actual ability seems to have enabled him to coast thru his Boro career.
 
Howson is showing his age now. Centre Midfield is one of the most physically demanding positions on the field. Most games now he's chasing shadows.
 
I said to my son leaving the ground that Howson was awful. Poor passing and crossing all game, gave away the first goal and his positioning was terrible. I couldn't believe easily QPR broke and overloaded Boro if with ten men.
 
Think I am coming round to the idea we need another midfielder now. Morsy isn’t good enough and Howson is on the wane and McNair hasn’t a particularly good game this season yet.
 
Bringing in a holding midfielder now needs to be a priority for me. I was going to post this after the Bristol game but we'd won, and I wanted to give Howson the benefit of doubt and see how he performed tonight.

He was hopeless. Few times in the 1st half they were able to have free reign to run at our defence and I was wondering where Howson was.

He gave the ball away in the lead up to two of their goals and I'm sick of seeing him aimlessly hoof the ball forward.

McNair looks better suited to centre back.
