How Often Do You Get Post?

We get a fair amount of letters as my daughter has some hospital appointment of sorts at least once a week. The letters are often dated and we receive them well over a week from the date on them, actually missed an appointment once or twice from this happening.

We dont get much post anyway unless its for the house/farm behind which has a similar name to ours. We live in a rural area so you would think that you would have a regular postie who would know the round. But for some reason they are constantly putting different posties on the round which is when we start getting the neighbours mail and we have to keep letting them know its for the house behind. The neighbours get tons of mail, mind there is something dodgy there as they get mail for various names at the address who dont and never have lived there.

I noticed 2 weeks ago, we had no postie for 3 days in our road. Yes I am that said I notice this. Amazon on the other hand are at my front door daily, they are like good friends  😁

Lucky if i get 1 letter a week of actual post, but usually 3-4 flyers and leaflets a week.
Most of what i get is something that i have already received online via an app or email aswell, which seems daft.

As an ex-postie we would never leave a letter behind and wait til you had a couple and deliver together as the delivery office gaffer would have a walk about and any missed letters in the pigeon holes you'd get collared for. Might have changed now though.

Couple of times a week for ‘meaningful’ stuff. I get a time sensitive publication every Friday and it always arrives on the day, during the pandemic it often arrived on Saturday. So for me there’s no evidence of post being held back.

Yep. A few weeks ago I had nothing all
Week then three letters on one day. My mother’s neighbour was told they have started holding mail back.
I’m surprised they can deliberately hold back mail, could make the difference between life and death to someone (literally)

It's great to go green and paperless but try and open a new bank account without a genuine, original, utility bill. They need nothing short of a DNA sample.

Most days we have post.Bank and hospital with a couple from catalogue firms.
When we lived in Spain we got hardly any. They had a good system of screening junk mail.

Oh there was an excuse - it was something along the lines of not enough delivery men available. But that news story that they were lobbying ofcom (I think) so that they didn’t have to commit to delivering six days a week - it’ll happen eventually.

Not everyone has email. It’s like thinking everybody has a phone just because most people you know are never off theirs. Some people rely on letters and the Royal Mail.
Yes I changed my stance a little bit, I think the option of paperless should be on the table everywhere though.

Ours has dropped down to 3 or 4 days a week, which doesn’t really bother me or at least I thought it didn’t but today my lads new bank card arrived and in the same post was the separate letter containing his PIN.

See the postie(s) every day, but we get more parcels than letters these days. With everything going online or paperless it's usually only junk mail or stuff like electoral role mail that we get through the door. Think we've had a farmfoods leaflet and a couple of seed catalogues this week but nothing else.
