I also like Soho Radio London, especially Pete Paphides' show on a Tuesday lunchtime (@goalscrounger I reckon that would be up your street).
Does sound like it. Will investigate, cheers!!I also like Soho Radio London, especially Pete Paphides' show on a Tuesday lunchtime (@goalscrounger I reckon that would be up your street).
I usually listen to Stuart Maconie's Freak Zone on R6 and Music Life on World Service if I fancy something fresh.Up until a couple of years ago I would've said "very important" but I am really struggling to find music stations that I like. 6Music is not the station it once was, I like a diverse range of music but too often I can listen to a good 30 to 60 minutes of 6Music these days and not like (or even recognise) any songs (especially on Mary Ann Hobb's show, which for me, is the all important breakfast show). Even using the Sounds app, I only really find myself listening to Radcliffe & Maconie or Steve Lamacq (much maligned in these quarters but I don't mind him and he always plays good stuff).
I subscribe to Sirius XM which is a platform that plays hundreds of satellite radio stations, but the few stations I enjoy have such narrow playlists that you've heard everything after a couple of days. Really struggling to find new stuff these days so seem to have reverted to 80's New Wave (Gem Radio New Wave on the internet is decent) or staples like The Decemberists, The Front Bottoms or Fountains Of Wayne on Spotify.
I was at the Marine college Ocean road was further into town though, the street with all the Indian and kebab shops.
