How can Oasis sell all those stadiums out at £150 a go?

Someone also made a good point on here a few days ago as well, life is pretty **** for a lot of people in this country at the moment. The economy is an absolute mess, you need to be a millionaire to afford a holiday or a bag of chips, we had the race riots recently and the country feels like a nasty divided place at times.

Or go to an Oasis gig seemingly. 150 a ticket to start with was obscene, never mind the price gouging that came after it.

Yeah it's gonna be an expensive weekend, it's costing me £150 for a ticket and £40 on transport so probably close to £300 when I factor in food and drinks.

But people obviously think it's worth paying and there's a difference between 300 quid for a day out and thousands on a holiday.

I guess they could've said that their reunion wasn't going to happen if surge pricing was in play.
Why would they though? It’s a rock band not a charity. I don’t think any act has ever said they’d not play shows if dynamic pricing was used so why are you expecting this from Oasis?

I saw a long thread on the surge pricing thing on some website and it said Ticketmaster don't benefit from surge pricing as they get the money from the booking fee.

The band can decide if they want in demand pricing or nit, other artists have declined to use it.

Yes - The band chooses surge pricing.

Those nice Oasis boys ripping off their fans.

I mean some bands have refused to use it and a lot haven’t. It’s hardly an Oasis thing. It might be ripping of their fans but in that case so is Taylor Swift, Coldplay, Springsteen, Blink 182, Harry Styles and probably loads of others that didn’t come up in my quick google search.

Watched Oasis at Wembley on Sky last night, forgot how average they were live. We were there for the other night, great gig, great day, but they are certainly not the best band I've seen.

Still, hope everyone who got tickets has a great day.

It’s not ok whoever does it - people are getting conned and manipulated by greedy artists

I never said it’s ok, but I accept it’s to be expected from world famous acts for the time being. I’ve not gone to a lot of gigs because of it so I’m not defending it but just trying to point out it’s not unique to Oasis or this tour, it’s been going on for years and it’s sh*t.

Isn’t it just - imagine thinking ‘crikey £135 is steep but it’s a one off’
After about 6 hours you get to the tickets and it’s £350 - you are just in too deep and do it. 👹

We were just under 10k in the queue on Ticketmaster when we got in, and our tickets were £101.75p each plus a £2.75 booking fee for seating at Wembley, with a great view. Reading some of the comments it seems that we were very lucky. I will say though that the price of these tickets are cheaper than gigs we’ve been to this year including Springsteen, The Eagles, AC/DC and the Killers.

I guess this is the issue I have with it. If for example it was advertised that prices could range from the £150 - £500+ for the same ticket depending on demand then you know what you're in for. I know lots of people who spent hours trying to to get tickets and when they finally got in weren't willing to pay £350+ for a standing ticket. It's a terrible way to treat your fans whether it's Oasis, Taylor Swift or Coldplay. The hypocrisy from the don't buy off ticket touts stinks as well - what's the difference? It's just demand and market forces.

I was one of them. But it’s a choice isn’t it. No one had a gun to my head and sometimes you have to be willing to just say no. If I’d said yes I wasn’t necessarily being ripped off, I was just choosing to spend more money than others.

None of these artists are in it for philanthropy.

Hmmm - as an earlier poster said…. If they had been clear up front about the likely maximum prices (and they could have) you can make a decision prior to getting engaged in the process.

I do recognise it was your choice and you could have said ‘no’ - unlikely tho

I think ‘ripped off’ is fair.

I wasn’t bothered about going and think its great that 000s will have a great time ….but also think its right to call out a couple of once working class lads for letting this happen

Well let me put it another way. Oasis, and most other bands, are out to squeeze as much money from their fans as they can. In fairness Noel has always said he’d only ever do this for the money.

As are most football clubs including the Boro. It’s the capitalist world we live in, and to which most of society fully buys into.

Well they can't complain about touts then?
