Gyokores?

The days of spending millions on players by championship clubs are surely over.

If Coventry really put £10 million plus valuation on him he surely won’t be joining another championship outfit.

An injury could destroy clubs short and long term plans.

Coventry are going to do everything to maximise any sale value that’s common sense but if Fulham or Forrest come in for him I can see him lining up for Mark Robin’s men next month.

One of the things that put me off Waghorn a bit was that his impressive stats for Ipswich were mostly based on set pieces. He had a lot of assists and goals, but a lot of them were pens or assists from corners etc. Nothing wrong with that, but it did distort the perception of how creative a player he was really was (IMO).
Surely plus the fact he was a lump of wood as well 😂

Any player costing over about £8 million is more than a punt.

It's gambling the club's future for the next 5 seasons.

Get that sort of gamble wrong and a club may find themselves doing division 1 time
And yet we bought Assombalonga for more and we are still here.
Sometimes you have to speculate to accumulate. It's always a gamble.

You can’t keep going on thinking about ‘an injury could ruin it for us’ or ‘if it fails we could be in trouble for the next 5 years’ surely that’s the case in most transfers, it’s all purely luck/gamble. At the end of the day if it goes bad for him and we don’t go up we can sell him on, yes at a loss but your not purely going to loose £10m on him after a year,

Boro need strikers end of. Someone past 30 everyones saying there’s no resale value, anyone who’s been injured people say he’s injury prone, anyone who’s young then People say he’s unproven. What more possibilities is there without spending £60m plus on a worldy?

We`ve grown up quickly since our last Premiership adventure and the Monk debacle. We need to know what we are buying and not be seen as a money machine by selling clubs. We reportedly paid £2M for Akpom: I hope thats the last we waste on a third rate player. Just look at what Jones cost us. Our recruitment team appears to have picked up in recent seasons......though its a mystery about Peyero?

Total and utter rubbish.
The club will get what he will cost from the sale of Spence - a player who didn't play for us.
He will not ruin us from a FFP perspective at all.
If we have to sell him, we will get money for him, covering the outstanding book value.
We could also if needed sell Tavernier, Fry or McNair to offset any loss if he proved to be a disappointment. They are far from world beaters themselves.

But you know what, he might just fire us to promotion, he might just score loads even if we don't. Either way he would be worth a profit on his book value.

Stay small time, or invest at the right time for a better future. It's all about judgement. I'm so pleased your attitude is not at the helm.

I’m sure the best person to make the decision is the chairman. If the deal can be done and the manager wants him then I’m sure it will happen.
