Greatest TV series ever?

I struggle to look beyond:

Sopranos
Wire
Mad Men
Succession

Mini-series, probably The Plot against America.
Runner up to Hill Street Blues would include The Sopranos as well as The West Wing, Shameless, Boys From Blackstuff, first two series of Auf Wiedershen Pet.

Never seen Succession so can't comment. Rewatched The Wire last year and it wasn't as good as I remembered it for some reason.

Sopranos for me, followed by Breaking Bad and Mr Robot. Just finished Dopesick and that's definitely up there as well :)

Reminded of a great, but rarely shown gem of the past yesterday, by the passing of actor Jack Hedley. Better known to those of my generation as Col Preston, Commander of the British prisoners of war in Colditz! A programme much loved by my 10 year old self and my school mates, but hardly ever seen on our screens for some reason or other. Have caught up with episodes over the years during my travels in the US and Canada, and must say it more than stands the test of time!
It was repeated several years ago on an afternoon (can't remember what channel). I used to try to go into work early for an early finish so I could watch it, but I missed quite a few. I remember seeing the one with Willie Rushton playing the part of a British commando who was executed by the Gestapo. Hitler had ordered that all commandos & non-standard enemy soldiers should be executed.

My daughter bought me the dvd boxed set for Christmas that year. (y)
