Greatest TV series ever?

When we watched it as part of A-level History, the episode on Genocide was the only lesson we were allowed to walk out of if we wanted/needed to. Images that are still seared onto my concious 38 years later!

As a kid I remember feeling a bit sick watching that one

End of thread really.

One thing, though that's missing - it was made when the activities of Bletchley Park were still top secret so the work of Turing and his code breakers doesn't get a mention, and we now know that was one of the most important parts leading up to the final result.

BTw I have the box set
There's quite a lot missing, especially regarding Barbarossa, the eastern front, the Red Army's advance westwards and their brutality towards German - and other - civilians and looting. Much of this info only came to light after the end of the Iron Curtain and Soviet breakup.

I highly recommend the Witness Podcast series on BBC iplayer if you love the World at War.
Brilliant historical radio

Years ago in the Dam we visited Anne Frank's House. Our visit coincided with a bus trip of German students who were mostly in floods of tears the whole time we were in there.
Never ever forget.

Went on my first trip there in the 90's. Party ahead of me had one of them throw a strop when she had to show her passport when she tried to get in at kids rate! Some people are beyond help!

Just off the top of my head in this moment..
Game of thrones was surprisingly very good
band of brothers was excellent, couldn’t get into the pacific though .
breaking bad also very good, although a fair few episodes were rubbish, mainly the jesse ones, the lad can’t act for ****.

gambit, the chess thing was exceptionally well done 👍🏻

hmmm to pick one out of many is impossible

I think you have to be decisive.

Hi it's Dennis. My favourite ever TV series is called Heartbeat and it is on ITV3+1 when me and my dog Polly who is nearly 10 come in from our teatime walk. It is about a Policeman who has got a motorbike, but he is different to the Policeman who was in it before, and a Doctor and a man who has got a dog called Alfred and a lady who works in the pub. Yesterday the man got some new glasses and the other man drowned and died and came back as a ghost only he wasn't really a ghost and then he got dressed as a lady and went on a train and the man who has got a dog called Alfred got drunk. Dennis in Redcar Redcar and Cleveland
