Lots of manoeuvring going on in Tory political circles now. I can imagine Gove, Truss, Sunak and Raab all thinking they have a chance of replacing the blond haired buffoon.

It says an awful lot about The current Tory regime that I genuinely think that I'd be kind of relieved if Gove Or Sunak ended up replacing Johnson purely because neither of them are Priti Patel.

I think Sunak or Gove would bring back a certain level of competency which Starmer may struggle against. Truss or Rabb would just be comical. How these people get anywhere near the positions they hold blows my mind.

Starmer would struggle against any of them. He's useless. Truss would be hilarious. She's almost as thick as Lisa Nandy.

Starmer might not have charisma or political nous, that all remains to be seen how it develops, but he is way more intelligent than any of those four.

Gove has the political nous but not the personality. He has no chance of the top job or else Sarah Vine would still be with him. For some reason his backers have given up on him.

Sunak has less nous than Starmer. He is there through luck and connections. He has had to play a hand he was dealt, the signs are that the hand he would choose would be a stupid one though.

Raab has neither intelligence or nous.

Truss might well have exceptional political nous in reference to her Party, but what plays well to them does not necessarily play well to the public as a whole, because Tory members are effing odd. Of all of them, she is the most stupid by far. I hope she gets it.

I thought Starmer was intelligent until the pandemic and then it became very obvious he isn't, along with the likes Jon Ashworth.

Of the others mentioned only Sunak is PM material from either main party in my view.

Finally, a post of yours that I can reply to because it isn't just one huge block of text. Starmer has no charisma. I'll agree with you on that. He has nothing else either. And he's in the wrong party.

Gove has the novelty value. The first ever Thunderbirds puppet to become prime minister. And I do have a recurring dream about him that I can't go in to on a public message board. It would upset people if I went in to details and I've already upset BoroFur this week and I really didn't mean to. I hope that he's forgiven me.

I'm not sure that Sunak would be interested. Isn't he already obscenely rich? I can't be arsed to look it up but aren't his family worth a fortune? Don't think he'd fancy the pressure of being in the top job. But I don't think that Johnson really wanted that either. He liked the idea of becoming prime minister and of the bit afterwards too where you get to say that you were prime minister. It's the bit in between where you have to do a bit of work that he doesn't like. That's why he keeps pretending to be ill or making some other excuse whenever something needs dealing with.

You're not allowed to mention Raab unless you say it in a pirate voice. It has to be 'Ahhhh-Rrrrraab'. You ought to know that by now.

Liz Truss isn't worth talking about.

So in conclusion, since the worst has happened in just about everything in recent years (Brexit, Trump, Boris etc.) my money is on Patel. And the second that she becomes prime minister I will lose all faith in humanity and probably shoot myself.

You're brave admitting to voting for that lot. I guess ten years of austerity, hammering the very fabric of society and going after the less well off doesn't mean much to you.

Starmer is many things but hearing people question his intelligence is beyi f laughable.
Politics is about the long game at times, Starmer has waited for the right opportunities to attack for maximum effect. People seem to forget, Boris is in charge with a massive e majority, Starmer can not impact policy I do t know why people expect he can.
Starmerbis more capable than any of the Tory front bench, wether he's far enough left for Labour is another matter but he is a much better option than the ghouls mentioned in this thread.

It's amazing, the Sun have told people Starmer is useless so they believe it. Critical thinking is a dead skill it seems.

Patel is unpopular with the Party members and Yvette Cooper is too clever for her, so that is only going to worsen.

Hope that jab at a fellow poster makes you feel better.

There's a lot of that going on here and does nothing but segregate when what we need is to bring voters together to enact change, abuse and blame towards other posters does nothing but harm to this cause.
Correct , maybe ask why its been so long & look inwards , you do not lose a shed load of seats by accident, i want a decent opposition because that holds people to account & that has been too long coming sadly.
