Good things from Sunderland

I'm sure this week the Mackems board will have plenty of nasty comments about us, but in an effort to rise above it, what good things do you associate with Sunderland ?

For me:-

Lauren Laverne
Bryan Ferry
Frankie & The Heartstrings
Pop Recs
Grant Leadbitter (I know he's from Chester-Le-Street, but he's a Sunderland fan)
James Bowlam
I also don't mind George Clarke off the telly too

Any more ?
Mexico 70. Well worth a visit.

I can't believe you need to put 'Boro footballer' next to Dave Hodgson.
Am I that old? Hands up if you didn't know who he was.

The woman over the road is from Sunderland.

She allowed me to check her bedside top drawer (see Clarkson sacked by Amazon thread).

Her husband works shifts (see Blokes called Tony thread).

with a wink to Roofies thread Julio Arca seems a good lad and a decent footballer for the Boro, I know he is from Argentina originally but we got him from Sunderland
