Gone Fishing

The latest episode marked 6 years of the program. Television at its very best.

Bringing Teesside’s finest to a country wide audience. With Bob missing last week it wasn’t the same. Him and Whitehouse are great together.

I enjoy the show usually but the episode with Lee Mack was dreadful (and I like Lee Mack). Absolutely zero chemistry at all with Paul and it was cringey for me.

Enjoyed a couple of episodes in this series but think it’s getting a bit stale now.
I disagree re Lee Mack but I do agree that it is all getting a bit tired now.

I think they should call it a day before they kill it.

Those two are never going to run out of things to talk about. And that, essentially, is the show. The fishing is just a means to an end... stroke location. Or, to put it another way. If they make another series, you will most likely watch it. I might add, it's the only series on British TV that I have any desire to direct. Pretty much everything else is unwatchable for me.

The entire show is beautifully shot, majestic, honest and life affirming.
I (and I am sure many) have a lot of empathy with Bob & Paul and the bond / chemistry they have that translates to an almost ethereal 30 minutes whilst they are on screen.
If they stop making the show it will be a shame, but I'd rather it was stopped.
Please do not try to do this with anyone else.
