Rob....I am trying to look at this from a logistical and revenue perspective, I believe in the current climate t maximise the revenue and reduce the logistical overheads, we need to go the all season tickets route. The question is what to do with the remaining seats.
There might end up being more than 9000 after bubbles etc.
Should they just be opened up to all season ticket holders first come first served. Or should a small batch be available match by match?
If the latter surely you need a mechanism. You cannot risk the chance of unsold tickets when season card holders would have snapped them up.
Also maybe an amnesty period where if guaranteed your seat for 2021-22 ,you could get a refund if you only renewed because you didnt want to lose your seat. I have a feeling when it comes down to it that very few would do this but it could be offered, perhaps.
I thought that some were suggesting earlier that it should not be a ballot for the say 500 match by match tickets but open to everyone to buy.
If you’re going to have both season ticket holders and regular walk up fans unable to go to a game for a full 18 months then you can kiss goodbye to them ever coming back.Rob....I am trying to look at this from a logistical and revenue perspective, I believe in the current climate t maximise the revenue and reduce the logistical overheads, we need to go the all season tickets route.
I assume a seating configuration plan will need to be created, to meet the social bubble requests, so to the logistics of changing this week by week for a ballot would be too time consuming, you could have a Saturday game followed by a Tuesday night game, that would need a full reconfiguration, it’s a non starter.
It really is difficult isn't it to think of the fairest scheme when the capacity is so reduced.
This was the same with Eindhoven. There is no 'fair'. Some fans who perceive it to be unfair might never come back, but how can the club avoid it. A lot if it is out of their control. They'll just have to live with it.It is but if the club don’t act fairly then they’re going to be kissing goodbye to a huge number of fans and future fans.
But that is the fine balance between what is logistically possible and keeping people appeased. If you’re going to have both season ticket holders and regular walk up fans unable to go to a game for a full 18 months then you can kiss goodbye to them ever coming back.
Eindhoven was one game. This is going to be excluding people for 18 months. You can’t do that and not expect hugely negative consequences. This was the same with Eindhoven. There is no 'fair'. It is but with modern ticketing systems this is not an impossible task. But that is the fine balance between what is logistically possible and keeping people appeased.
Completing ticketing sales days before a match doesn’t sound incredibly difficult to me.It would be incredibly difficult for the club to sell tickets on a match by match basis and comply with the social distancing/bubble rules. Any advance sales would have to be completed days before the match.
The result is the same though. Some people will be ***ed off forever, some will be ***ed for a short while, some will just accept that it wasn't personal. They can't avoid this, whatever they do.Eindhoven was one game. This is going to be excluding people for 18 months. You can’t do that and not expect hugely negative consequences.
They can minimise it. If you’re suggesting missing one game is the same as all the games in an 18 month period then I totally disagree. The result is the same though. I'm not suggesting its 'the same' per se, but the result is the same. Some people will get over it, some people won't. They can only minimise it where its practically viable. They can minimise it. We are talking about MFCCompleting ticketing sales days before a match doesn’t sound incredibly difficult to me.
Again I totally disagree. The result is very different as we’re not talking about 1 game but all the games for 18 months. New habits form. Money spent elsewhere etc. You will lose a huge number of paying customers for good.I'm not suggesting its 'the same' per se, but the result is the same. I don't disagree with the final sentence, I'm just not sure its avoidable.Again I totally disagree. The result is very different as we’re not talking about 1 game but all the games for 18 months. New habits form. Money spent elsewhere etc. You will lose a huge number of paying customers for good.
