Sums it up doesn’t it. People just trot stuff out without any real meaning because it sounds “normal”.Save him from what?. What does that phrase even mean today?. He needs the least help of anybody on the planet.
He is worth at least 1.8 bnMore to the point, how full is Charlie's bank account, how many people are using food banks, how's the state of the NHS?

Go on then I’ll have a little bite. And the rest
Sorry meant to add I’m a 20% tax payer if that makes the maths easierGo on then I’ll have a little bite.
If you got rid of the Royal family tomorrow and sold off every one of their assets, how much, per week would I be better off?
I’m not sad or bitter, I have a fantastic life. But I see no reason to venerate a person due to their parentage, especially when they exemplify the extortion of the working classes. Some sad bitter people on here. I cannot wait till labour make you all rich and happy.
Not really about the cost to individuals is it though? £68m might not be much when it comes to the public finances, but it could still do a lot of good spent elsewhere.Sorry meant to add I’m a 20% tax payer if that makes the maths easier
It’s impossible to tell because of the secrecy around them. What we do know is:Go on then I’ll have a little bite.

Lock up your tortoise.
Mmmm I think it really is about the cost to the individual to be honestNot really about the cost to individuals is it though? £68m might not be much when it comes to the public finances, but it could still do a lot of good spent elsewhere.
Particularly during a cost of living crisis and during a period where successive Tory governments have cut public services to the bone because "we can't afford it" etc.
If we need to cut public spending it should be top of the list.
So if you get rid of it all tomorrow 18 billion pounds will be put in to the treasury???It’s impossible to tell because of the secrecy around them. What we do know is:
- the ‘official’ figures for the cost of the royals miss a large number of costs such as security, most travel and entertainment, opportunity cost in removal of wealth from crown estate which is not exactly theirs, ‘legal’ tax avoidance, etc
- the general estimates are 1.8b in assets
- inheritance tax on 1.8b is 700mish
- it’s expected that the 1.8b is significantly less than reality. They are believed to be the biggest land owner on the planet and make use of many offshore schemes to hide their wealth and ownership of assets, as proven by the Panama papers.
- the figures usually quoted on the cost per person are based on number of adults but, there are millions that don’t work/earn and if you earn above average you pay more
- remember this is every year. The estimated cost by republic is (and they admit it’s likely to more, not less) is £345m. I’m in my 50s, in my life they have cost ~18billion…for one feckin family! That can’t be justified by anyone. EIGHTEEN BILLION roughly!
I wouldn’t put it past randy andy to be into animals eitherDid I say tortoise there? I meant to say daughters. Sorry about that.
