Giro D’Italia Chat (Contains spoilers) 🇮🇹

Enjoyed the scenery in Italy today - Valley of The Kings
Sorry to be a pain gents but - can we keep spoilers of other races off this one.
Waiting for highlights of LVL

Ref Grand Tours - has anyone had more 2nds that Sagan ever?
Trouble is we dont know when you are going to watch the highlights 🤷

Hope its safe now to say I thought Alaphilippe got his just desserts after taking Hirschl out of any chance of winning the LBL. Crazy to coast over the line like that. Arrogance beat him. Rightly demoted.

Roglic handed that race. Very lucky.

Too many races overlapping at the moment  I will be busy on Youtube.

I'm not sure it was broadcast live anywhere. I was watching the men's LBL on Fr3 and they cut to the final kilometre of the women's event. The Giro was on l'Equipe so I could watch both races on mainstream french TV.

Major developments in the Giro today that could potentially blow the race wide open.
I won't spoil things for anyone wanting to watch the highlights later.

It might just be my poor memory, but when was the last time that the Giro went to plan and wasn't full of incident?

I think we can chat during the race on this thread - I thought that was the idea with 'contains spoilers' in the title. However I'll not be the first.

Same here Pierre, didn't want to risk it.
Thomas crashes in the neutral zone, Yates blows up on Etna and everyone else was attempting to take chunks out of each other and it's only Stage 3

Just got in. How far are the two Brits down? Surely if this thread warns of spoilers we shouldn't be worried about asking?

Thomas Hit a Discarded water bottle thrown away - went down hard. Lucky he didn’t crash into the wall on a fast part.

Yes, that was not too bad, but he also crashed hard just before the last climb and that's what did the damage. Italian TV failed to pick it up. Unfortunately I think he might pack and french commentators think he might then target the Vuelta as it would be a shame to waste that form on what is now a lost cause.

EDIT It's weird that none of the news reports are mentioning the 2nd crash. Perhaps the french commentary team got it wrong. They were going on the fact that his jersey was much more shredded towards the end of the stage than after the crash in the neutral zone, and it seemed like that to me too. No doubt Geraint will tell the truth soon enough.
