Get out of this Johnson

I’ve tried to explain - the Christmas parties are offensive , disgusting and the gvt should be rightly slammed and investigated for such.

this picture of them outside - working not working , breaking between work - do we even know? has got people losing their minds.

the other point I’m trying to make is do we have enough detail to say whether this is wrong against the guidance at the time or not - people with a specific agenda just don’t look at the details and just assume the worst without the evidence to back it up.

There's no guidelines to defend the PM, his girlfriend and colleagues enjoying a social gathering with food and alcohol at time when no one else could, in no way shape or form was that anything to do with work.

This was not in isolation and is compound by every other revelation that has been made about parties. This is worse given the restrictions at the time during the first lockdown when 1000s were dying.

The culture at Downing Street is do as we say but not as we do, it's repugnant.

I’m sorry laughing but I will mention again how last Christmas you were on this very board saying despite regulations you were having some sort of a gathering with your father in law.
(More lately you said that it didn’t happen in the end.)
I’m therefore finding it difficult to reconcile your comments about getting annoyed about people ignoring lockdown when you posted on this very board that you were going to do exactly that?
Please don't do that. We considered it before the lockdown, then dismissed it when the lockdown came in to force. I have responded once to this accusation, do it again and you go on the ignore list. I really can't be doing with people who want to use a tragedy to scoe a point, even a poor point.

Finally I don't need you to reconcile anything, I don't care one jot what you think, rightly or wrongly, your viewpoints are well advertised on this board.

You should have a read of this article - reading this board you would think I’m being unreasonable but this article is quite balanced.

The government defending itself for something clearly wrong is not a balanced defence, Raab even suggests something completely different.

They got caught and like with everything else, they try and worm out of their responsibility as the government who make the rules everyone else has to follow.

Let’s not dog pile Fat Cat, he has his opinion and whilst it’s one I find difficult to reconcile given the evidence, it is his right to hold it, for me the most telling thing from his response is that even as one of Johnson’s most ardent and consistent supporters on these pages he recognises the frequency and variety of the Prime Minister errors that he has decided to adopt a grading system, in its own way it speaks of Johnson’s continued unsuitability for the role of PM far more tellingly than the hundreds posts by those of us, including myself, on here who have always been critical.

The thin edge of the wedge has begun. What we need now is a slightly more incriminating photo. There will be one out there. Please let it happen. Bye Bye you fat slug.

Hmm that’s really not how it happened you were very clear but whatever !

Hmm.... Should I take morality instruction from you? Let me think on that for a while.
That’s not the point as well you know it - I’m sure it was my post we can dig it out - your views are there in black and white for all to see.

Drinking bottles of wine is not something you would normally do at work as a normal civil servant or member of a government team, but lets park that particular elephant into a dark corner of the room, can you tell me what work tasks that are being undertaken in that picture, where the social distancing is taking place especially around the table on the garden and what actions are taking place that could not have been done remotely from behind a computer screen from home, as was the advice at the time ?
I've never attended a work meetings without at least one laptop or one notepad being visible. It's BS, lets stop the pretense

not at all, it is what it is, more rule breaking, drinking wine and eating cheese, not a laptop in sight, not a note pad in sight. Johnson claims it was a work meeting, but it isn't. We've all been to meetings and we've all been to work gatherings and the difference is clear.

To be fair i think there is a small notebook visible on Johnson's table. Closed and out of reach, but it is there. For some that'll be all the proof they need it was definitely a work meeting. Case closed.

With 2 bottles of wine between 3 people, assuming CJ is not drinking. And that is at 7pm, wonder how many units were downed.

I think as many people are persuaded by the government's claim that it was a work meeting as they were that Cummings drove to Barnard Castle to test his eyesight.
