Get out of this Johnson

The 'drinks and nibbles' might not in itself be the biggest deal, but it is just the cherry on the massive shyte cake that the Tories have served up to us over the past few decades. Austerity, Brexit, Covid, corruption et al should be enough to damn their record, this just shows their distain for the populace even moreso.

If that was a work meeting then there should be an appointment in each of the participants' Outlook/Teams calendar.

There would also be a ToR (Terms of Reference), an agenda and published meeting notes/actions.

Unless those four separate groups of people are all telepathic then I struggle to see how an efficient meeting could have taken place.

The absence of laptops, tablets, whiteboards and notepads together with the evidence of wine, cheese, spouse and baby would suggest to most objective folk that in no way was that a work meeting.

I agree with Fat Cat. Don't get what all the fuss is about.

Yesterday both Raab and Boris took time out to explain exactly the circumstances of this event.

The fact that their explanations were contradictory is to be totally expected.

SPAFFER: Pleased to clear that up for you. Now here's another dead cat for you, called Truss. Meanwhile, in my own mind, I will get on with my world beating this, that, and the other. Dont forget to get boozed up to protect Tim Martin.

Now fetch me a Truss for my biggest dropped b0ll0ck - no I didnt mean that feckless remainer. She's too busy trying to negotiate our way back into the single market.

This, from a friend who works backstage in the entertainment industry...

"Here's a Thing. An anecdotal Thing, but a Thing nevertheless...

I've been working on a comedy tour for the past couple of weeks, doing arena shows round the country. It's not – in the slightest – a 'political' comedy tour. No satire, no wry take on current affairs. It's just a fun night out with lots of jokes and stories about bodily functions and embarrassing sex, and a married couple taking the rise out of each other.

But here's the Thing. Each evening there's a point in the show where an image of the Prime Minister appears on the video screen. The artiste says "Cheers, you massive c**t". And then the roar starts. It begins quietly, and it build and builds and builds. It's primal, it's heartfelt, it's a release. And it's happened at every venue round the country. Ordinary folk, on an ordinary night out, venting their disdain and fury.

Does it mean the end of the Johnson government? I don't know. But it's definitely a Thing. And it does the heart good to hear it. Oh yes. It does the heart good to hear it."

'Stand up if you hate Boris'

This covers it. Richard Murphy…Tax Research UK

“ We paid an enormous price for Brexit to solve Tory party infighting. Now we are going to do so again over Covid”

Got to say @FatCat I completely disagree with your stance and position on this subject but the pile on you have received and personal abuse by one or two never sits well with me, this is supposed to be a community of Teessiders and we aren't always going to agree with each other but we should never resort to abusive language.

It’s alright I know they are only playing ;-) I’m sure they are all really good guys/gals.

I’ve tried to explain - the Christmas parties are offensive , disgusting and the gvt should be rightly slammed and investigated for such.

this picture of them outside - working not working , breaking between work - do we even know? has got people losing their minds.

the other point I’m trying to make is do we have enough detail to say whether this is wrong against the guidance at the time or not - people with a specific agenda just don’t look at the details and just assume the worst without the evidence to back it up.

the bbc says

There is debate about what, if any, rules were being broken when this picture was taken in the Downing Street garden in May last year.
But, as far as many people seeing this photo will be concerned, the details don't matter.”
Do you think it's fair that people setting the rules are breaking those rules, drinking wine and inviting their families to a party. Whilst at the time, people couldn't visit sick loved ones or attend funerals?

I don't

That's it. He's lost the populace now. Darts fans are the ultimate poll subjects in this country.
As tongue in cheek as that might sound, a lot of dart fans tend to be working class folk who perhaps have more of a leaning towards Brexit.

I'd bet of all the darts fans in there more voted Tory at the last election than any other party and so most of them standing up and chanting that they hate Boris is a reasonable yardstick for how a sizeable number of his voters are feeling.

Individuals must make their own assessment of these circumstances, manufactured or not.
There seems to be a different reaction now. People are describing having feelings of a Cold Fury at what’s occurred, given that more people were attending these events than were allowed at loved ones funerals or allowed to visit their dying relatives in hospital. At the time they took place.F001D6C1-FC33-4775-ADA3-3A838E9AE139.jpegF001D6C1-FC33-4775-ADA3-3A838E9AE139.jpegF001D6C1-FC33-4775-ADA3-3A838E9AE139.jpeg
