Get out of this Johnson

If it was a work meeting, why was his bint sat with them? I know she THINKS she is in government but she really isnt. Therefore it is a SOCIAL meeting.
But more water off a ducks back

We don't know what the gathering/meeting was for, or the agenda. Are the comments more about 'them' and 'perception'. Do I think it was essential, I have assumed it was. If, however that is proved not to be the case, then it's another nail in the coffin.
Anyone looking at that picture without context would describe what they saw, a garden party. No one, not one, would say, looks like a business meeting.

Get a life bore
And a good evening to you dearest 86. Thank you for enquiring about my living conditions.
I would like to tell you a full story but that would take too much time and you might find it boring. Hmm maybe, each to their own.
Suffice it to say l regard it as full and wholesome. This includes taking an interest in events that may effect me, you and the whole country. If you think that is boring good luck too you.
Try reading this for this is what you should really be worried about
I hope you can understand its significance

Precisely this, no reasonable person could describe that setting and context as a 'business meeting'.

Frankly I find this worse than the actual event itself and that was bad enough, when people's liberty was curtailed so significantly, they didn't feel the rules applied to them.

Appalling, but by now expected, sadly.

I’m not so sure I agree. There are so many missing pieces of info it is difficult to conclude what’s going on.

for instance if they had worked all day and this was a working lunch before getting back at it - I actually think this would be sensible rather than sending them all home and then back again to continue. I’ve been in many working lunches of a similar ilk.
Too many people on here jumping to conclusions and before people start im not defending them - without more info I don’t think we can find them guilty as charged.

What is much more offensive and a slam dunk guilty are the copious amounts of Christmas parties they were having this time last year.

Utter gibberish.

It is really straightforward and only complicated by those that seek to defend the indefensible. At a time where we weren’t being asked but told as a country to make heartbreaking and at times unbearable sacrifices, our leaders who are supposed to be the inspiration, the example were sat in a lovely garden surrounded by friends, colleagues and in the PM’s case loved ones drinking wine and eating cheese.

There is no context that justifies it, no explanation that can condone it and no weasel words that can defend it. When people were unable to say goodbye at funerals, not hugging dying relatives, when an unbearable burden was being put on healthcarers and where people were putting their whole lives on hold this bunch of sociopathic ***** were living it up.

Anyone trying to defend this can **** off. Just **** off.

What is hilarious is that people are getting upset about what they were eating .

Defintley not weasel words - are they not supposed to eat !? If they are all at work and continuing work afterwards then surely the safest thing to do is to be in an out door setting? They are in clearly distinct groups.

you need to look at thinks a bit more objectively and calm down, swearing at people just because they don’t agree with you.

Perfectly calm and perfectly objective. I have nothing further to add that I didn’t say in my previous post.

well as long as you’ve justified it in your own mind that it’s ok to speak to people like that then carry on.

I don't think anyone was particularly upset at the choice of snack rather that there was snacks.
I don't want it to be about the booze, it could just as easily be cups of tea.
But it wasn't cups of tea was it? If it had been cups of tea it might just have been covered by a "meeting" but it wasn't it was several bottles of wine that we can see. Also amusingly, as pointed out by Ed Balls, that photo was taken from No 11...

I am sure Fatcat in your city business meetings you have the finest of wines and the best cheeses served on boards with quince and crackers. Not.

You need to come out of your city bubble. From trying to say last week there were no queues for booster vaccinations to drinking Bordeaux as a norm at work. You seem to think you live in a different world.

I’ll ask again should Tory MPs not eat?
