He strikes me as the kind of player (a bit like Southgate) who will make a decent go of managing/coaching. It would be nice if it was here at some point.
Anywho, good to see him getting another contract, well deserved I'm sure.
really is a top man, great to have around the club, fans (and ladies) loved him when he was injured he would be in the legends lounge for the post meal / match talks.... met him a few times and always respectful and more importantly has time to listen....
I think he would definitely have been worth keeping around. He had a few niggly injuries but could play LB and would have been useful at CB when Fry was crocked (and Hall).
A voice and a leader. I think he would have got plenty of game time. That said I think we offered him a 1 year deal on massively reduced wages. So can't blame him leaving for a better offer (also think Karanka probably made his mind up).
