Gary Lineker being reined in

This seems like a really big moment in time. If you watched BBCQT last night the mood of the country in the audience wasn’t as Sunak suggests and hopes with the racist foreign haters who got Brexit through and elected Johnson but with the return of sanity, consideration of our fellow man and decency. We can only hope the tide is finally turning but be very clear the right wing press will seek to demonise and destroy Lineker in the coming days and weeks

When he signed his last deal he promised to “tweet more carefully”. Not sure if anything was actually written into the contract about it, it may have been.

Well, no he wasn’t. But also he was very very stupid.
 
I think that the Tories and their BBC stooges will once again discover that trying to go head to head with the national sport is a very dangerous fight to pick.
The football family might be riddled with rivalries, but when it comes under attack from the outside it puts all that aside and invariably stands together.

This could turn into something huge and totally backfire on the culture war stoking pricks!
Will be brilliant if this is the moment the tide turns, given the government are going to fight the next GE on culture wars because they’ve nothing else left….. let’s hope it’s a massive own goal! ⚽️
 
I very much agree with Linekers politics but never warmed to him as a sports presenter there's hundreds who could do a better job.. Mark Chapman is streets ahead as presenter. Motd needs a, freshen up shearer is dull as dishwater as well
