Folarin Balogun

If we are paying £40k/week - its no wonder we are getting him - its a lot of wages for an unproven player. I am surprised I would set the limit at around £20k/week and like Derby fans start asking where all the cash is for this (although could be Spence loan fee).

Just a thought… but maybe the people who understand the clubs finances better than the average fan have done some analysis on this and risk management and are happy to go ahead. I think the days of fans standing outside the Clevo centre with collection buckets for players wages are behind us. Gibson is still hands on enough to block this if it wasn’t right so I think fans can just relax and enjoy. UTB

I'm not sure he will be on £40 Grand a week which has been quoted, think this is a scaremongering tactic to price him out of a potential loan elsewhere, but If it is you would think Wilder has scouted him over a few year and seen enough of him that he will be a asset up the top of the pitch. I'm excited by our new direction and vision of the club.

Funny how his wages are quoted all of a sudden when it’s the boro involved can’t recall ever seeing any wages quoted for other loaned arsenal players willlock ??? Etc

but maybe I’m just paranoid.

see 42 k for rav and 63 k for boksic.

Wasnt Rav quoted at 70k per week when we first signed him and then over the years it seemed to get less and less.

Be nice if our balogun move coincides with Arsenal signing vlaihovic as well (to shut the Geordies up)

You have to realise that people treat any southern based player moving to the “cold North” as purely financial based and not in any way a positive move for the players development. This includes journalists who get fixated on the wages that the said northern club will pay to attract the southern based player up there.

That’s rubbish and this annoys me as the southern press love Newcastle and sunlun to an extent the issue they have is with us.

I’ve never once heard them refer to the cold damp awful weather when Newcastle are playing at home despite them being almost 50 mile further north.

Pretty sure I saw a post in here a while back listing current wages and Sporar was listed as highest earner on 30k a week. If that's remotely true and this this lad is as good as is being reported then its hardly unbelievable to think the club might think 40k is worth it to give themselves best chance this season.

Arsenal away to Forest today in the cup. Be just Boro’s luck if Forest manage to nip in and trump us to signing him. Be interesting to see if he’s involved today

We dont come under the "We love you" national football media - they have a habit of shoe-horning us into the also-rans. If we acquire a player who hasnt gone to one of their chosen few - hes either marginalised or never mentioned.
Let the skunks take the spotlight whilst we quietly overtake Sunlun, Moneycastle an the Dirty Whites - who fight off relegation - and sneak into the play-offs(y)
Dont care if nobody takes any notice. Flip em!

I'm genuinely not bothered about this one. I mean he could be the new Messi yet it seems such an amount for a young kid who's yet to score a senior goal.

I think in Connelly / Watmore / Sporar / Coburn and Uche we have enough.

What do I know. I just think its a pretty obscene amount for a kid. That's more damming of the premier league than us.

Full Arsenal squad revealed for Nottingham Forest clash with Charlie Patino decision to be made

The Gunners could be set to give minutes to a few youngsters when they face the Championship side today in their FA Cup third round clash at the City Ground:

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta could ring the changes and give chances to several youngsters when the Gunners face Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup third round on Sunday.

Arteta has often got the best out of the academy products at the club, with Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe and Eddie Nketiah just three of the youth graduates that have impacted the first-team in his tenure.

However, given the side’s fixtures this month as well as players missing through international duty for the Africa Cup of Nations, the Spaniard may have to introduce some of the current crop of youngsters.

Mohamed Elneny and Thomas Partey are not available due to their involvement in AFCON, while Granit Xhaka was not pictured in training ahead of the game.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Nicolas Pepe are also in Cameroon at the Africa Cup of Nations, with defender Gabriel set to miss the game through suspension following his red card against Manchester City.

Midfielder Charlie Patino is one youngster that featured against Sunderland from the bench in Arsenal’s quarter-final tie in the Carabao Cup, scoring on his debut.

The 18-year-old is set to feature against Forest, with Arteta low on midfield numbers for the month.

Albert Sambi Lokonga is currently the only senior central midfield option, with Ainsley Maitland-Niles having joined Roma on loan for the rest of the season.

Under-23s midfielder Salah-Eddine Oulad M'Hand was pictured in first-team training, having already featured in a senior squad when the Gunners faced Leeds in the Carabao Cup.

Winger Omari Hutchinson was also spotted at London Colney, meaning he could be set to be involved in some capacity for the game.

Young striker Folarin Balogun may be one who misses out though, with the 20-year-old expected to make the move to Championship side Middlesbrough on loan for the rest of the season.
⚽

With all that said, here’s a look at Arsenal’s squad for the clash.

Goalkeepers : Aaron Ramsdale, Bernd Leno

Defenders : Ben White, Rob Holding, Pablo Mari, Kieran Tierney, Nuno Tavares

Midfielders : Albert Sambi Lokonga, Martin Odegaard, Emile Smith Rowe, Bukayo Saka, Charlie Patino, Salah-Eddine Oulad M'Hand, Omari Hutchinson.

Forwards : Gabriel Martinelli, Alexandre Lacazette, Eddie Nketiah.

Ok its 40k a week but only for what 4 months? If he scores goals that get us up its chicken feed.
