Folarin Balogun

This type of signing is usually quite cheap and can blossom or really flop.

I expect Arsenal would allow him loaned out for 5k a week in wages to a club like Boro, to get him decent experience.

I'm not sure many Championship defenses will relish playing against any of the 5 strikers we'd have at our disposal
Sporar, Watmore, Connolly, Hernandez, Balogun.

There you have pace, trickery, persistence and youthful exuberance. The worst thing for a defender after having 60 minutes of Watmore pressuring you is looking over and seeing a replacement who'll do the same. And then after Sporar has had his way with you to look over and see Pace coming on with 20 to go whilst having to constantly deal with isiah Jones you're gonna be finding it difficult

Its sounds so exciting & what a transformation

I imagine any move will dependent on certain game time obligations. They won't want to loan him out if he doesn't play.

I remember last season we bombed Watmore and Johnson out for new loan signings. I thought it was harsh on both.

I imagine Watmore is expecting the same again.

Good point. We had be better sure he is capable of being a threat in the Championship if it causes the likes of Watmore more bench time

To be honest Watmore seems to be a 60-70 minute player currently, and we didn't have a like for like for him or Sporar till Connolly arrived, I assume if Balogun does arrive, we will rest rotate players in game more. It may well effect Hernandez's game time more than Watmore's.

I’d prefer tried and tested, bit of experience upfront but let’s see if this comes off.
I suppose a 'pacey wildcard' off the bench wouldn't hurt to close out games.

What we will need to find out is, will swapping out Watmore and Sporar as they tire be better with Balogun &/or Connolly replacing them, than it is currently with Hernandez and Uche?

They are a bit more like for like than Uche, to be fair. Not changing your game plan can be useful, if you are winning, of course.

I doubt clubs will loan 2 forwards to us without some assurances of game time. Throw in Sporar who's on decent money and clearly nailed on to start.

And maybe Hernandez?

Connolly and Balogan added to Sporar and Watmore two starters, two covering?

How many loan berths are we allowed, still 5?

Sporar, Hernandez, JLS, Connolly and Balogan (does he count as a youth?)

Fair point, Hernandez might be a casualty too, given he's largely coming on as a striker under Wilder.

I'd sooner keep him than JLS though.

It's 5 loans allowed in the matchday squad.
