Finally some good news

Why do you regard that as good news?
No one deserves to struggle more than the owner of that chain.

Good to see a strong brextist struggling in brexit Britain.

Also in general good to see the company that is destroying the pub get a dose.

And to possibly lay people off to go on benefits. Shame on you ST. You certainly are the Gimlet I mentioned sometime ago.

Whilst it's difficult to have sympathy for the company they are real people with bills to pay working there and then closing pubs, if it comes to that, puts people out of work.

Nothing to celebrate

Not really. If wetherspoons falls it'll help real pubs and people can get jobs there.
Honestly, what planet do you live on? Yes, the guy who runs this chain comes across like an idiot. But if a Weatherspoon's closes, do you really believe that a brand new pub ran by someone with political views more in keeping with your own will all of a sudden automatically spring up in its place? No, what will happen is that bar staff, waitresses, caterers & cleaners will be out of a job and the supply chain will similarly be badly affected. Meanwhile the people at the top who drive Bentleys and Rolls Royce's will just skim off a slightly lower profit than usual.

They are struggling to recruit staff apparently. As Randy has told us there are shortages across the Hospitality sector, who would have thought that people might be reluctant to work for a company that publicly shat on its workers during the pandemic and who's owner pushed for Brexit (if you are a former EU citizen or staunch remainer).

Pigeons.

Wow. So SOME are celebrating potential job losses in an industry that's already been punished and decimated due to the pandemic?

This is a new low for this board.

EDITED FOR CLARITY.

Trolltown you were devastated that they were running out of Carling and Coors fizzy pop the other week, make your mind up.
I wasn't though, was I? Also you've equated the struggling of a chain with abhorrent practices to food shortages. Which is wrong on so many levels. Which I suspect you'd understand if you didn't just want to insult me. Which clearly you do

No, quite the opposite. How many job losses and pub closures has wetherspoons caused?
