Finally some good news

It's a question. Do you deny that wetherspoons have damaged pubs by undercutting them and selling cheap nearly out of date alcohol?
And they undercut how. We know why the Spoons are cheap, a dam sight cheaper than a Brewery run pub. Or does it show greedy breweries are bullying landlords/Ladies to make vast profits. If you don't like a pub then don't go in.

I've told you how they undercut. So now you see why they are damaging real pubs?

No one deserves to struggle more than the owner of that chain.

Good to see a strong brextist struggling in brexit Britain.

Also in general good to see the company that is destroying the pub get a dose.
A company losing money is not good news. Redundancies would be good news would it?

really low from you this

Not really no. You are forgetting,pr chosing to ignore. All the pubs that struggle due to wetherspoons.

You also seem to forget the entire country is struggling due to brexit. Better for the brexot supporters to go to the wall first

If anyone other than ST had posted this thread you'd all be laughing

Who here actually likes Weatherspoons and their owner? Come on hands up

That is a fact. Look at the responses. Very few have tried to defend spoons. Most have used it just to personally attack me as usual. Good shout

You must hate all corporate business then.

Do you not use supermarkets because they closed down butchers, greengrocers aj’s almost ended the milkman?

and if you don’t use a supermarket how did you know about the shortages

How many of the staff that would lose their jobs are Brexit supporters? I guess that you don't know any more than anyone else does, and will then shoot off at another tangent.

You don't think the food shortages affected everyone? Fine if you like to drink in a cheap drink hypermarket rather than in a traditional family ran pub. But not for me and judging by this news hopefully not for many others

I've always said that the Wetherspoon's model is a good one and their pubs perform a great function. For many years and, in the case of certain areas of London and other places, now, they were the only places you could get a decent pint of real ale. But their owner is a tw@.

I know the brexit cult would take the moral high ground on this when it suits them. Hypocritical really when you consider the job losses brexit is causing

Putting words into peoples mouths again eh. I haven’t said I drink in a Wetherspoons

I don't, and I deliberately avoid them.

Equally I get that some people like them, for some people it's the only way they can afford a night or meal out, and for some people working there is a way to put a roof over their head. For those reasons I won't celebrate them going out of business.
