Female ref is a good progression but very odd to choose one from Washington.
We had a Sunderland supporter playing for us last week he seemed to be able to put his loyalty to them to one side.Female ref is a good progression but very odd to choose one from Washington.
I don't think so. I watch a lot of local football with Teesside refs in charge of Teesside teams against Geordie teams, not a problem at all, and she's come through the same system.Female ref is a good progression but very odd to choose one from Washington.
Why should it be a issue where the referee is from?the problem with alot of people is that there can't accept a decision that goes against there team, there have to have a scapegoat. Its her third game, she also refereed WBA v Wigan in March. I have no issue with her being female, but coming from Washington, the game after that Sunderland game is poor from the EFL, It leaves her wide open to criticism, impartial or not. That said, I trust a female to be more impartial than a male or even an alien like Geoff Etherington.
Absolutely loads of sexist abuse aimed at her already.
Who is it? Watching without commentary here. The Brum conspiracy nutters will be up in arms, the co-commentator on their TV channel is a Teesside lad.
Tommy Mooney, Billingham lad and giving us lots of credit.Who is it? Watching without commentary here.
I’d say it was a blatant yellow on jones mindHad a very good first half IMO
I don’t think that at all, but I remember loads of refs saying on podcasts etc they weren’t allowed to referee “their” team or against a rival. Seems like they’ve relaxed the rules.I don't think so. Chippy fans always think we're up against some sort of conspiracy, it's nonsense.
Jeff Winter refereed both Newcastle and Sunderland games.I don’t think that at all, but I remember loads of refs saying on podcasts etc they weren’t allowed to referee “their” team or against a rival. Seems like they’ve relaxed the rules.
She didn’t have a bad game anyway. Started badly but got much better as it went on.
