Female Referee for us today

Newsflash: we're playing Birmingham, not Sunderland. Not that we're rivals anyway, yeah?

Sunderland insist that we are not a derby for them so there should be nothing to worry about...

The bar for refereeing standards in this division is so low that the chance of her being off sufficient quality is pretty good.
 
Referee of the England Italy game was of the female persuasion I recall. Got one call wrong - the foul by Phillips that she missed and penalised the Italian player, and to be fair we had to see the slo-mo to realise that Phillips was the sinner not the sinned against.

We've certainly had female linos before and they have done a good job. I suspect because of misogynistic prejudice she will prove to be better than the standard barely competent championship referee that we usually get.
 
All refs make mistakes, but of the 23 people on the pitch at the start, I'd argue most refs will make fewer mistakes than 17-18 of the players.

Good luck to her: I suspect women have to be better than their male counterparts to make it to the same level.

Whether she is good or bad today, it won't be because she is a woman.
 
Good. Hope she has a good game.

Jon Moss reffed us a few times in his career and nobody kicked up a fuss then.

Let's see if she can meet the high standards of Championship refereeing. If not, there's bound to be a crisp packet caught in the breeze that'll outperform most of them.
