Fatal mass shouting in Texas…

Been reading a few American sites today, and some of the comments are gob smacking. 19 kids and two teachers killed and one of the comments was that if all teachers were armed this wouldn't have happened. A teacher could stop a mentalist with an AR-15 and Kevlar body armour. 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Just another tragic example of why the USA is populated by a higher % of fkwits than any other Country.

Who'd be a teacher there eh? Imagine being someone motivated to educate kids as your vocation and your employer tacking on an expectation that they can call on you to kill someone.

There literally is no words. It really has just become a normal experience in the US sadly. I certainly wouldn't want to send my kids to school over there. They take such a moronic view to guns too, maybe they're all just that scared inside & a gun is somehow their safety blanket.

My friend in Dallas has several guns in his house. He has 2 young kids and says he needs the guns for defence. Last time I know he had a shotgun and several handguns. I told him when I was there, I didn't want to see them. Great guy but same with a lot of Americans, utterly crazy when it comes to guns.

Where do the teachers keep their guns? On their desk in case?
To be fair to the sane Americans, a few teachers did comment saying "no f*cking way" with one rightly pointing out having a loaded gun - or rifle or semi automatic assault rifle - in a class of 8, 9, 10 Yr olds.......what could possibly go wrong? Think of how many schools, classrooms in the USA.....and how many fatal accidents a year will happen.🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️
Some things will never change, American gun culture is one.☹️☹️

My hunch as that he and his family are far more likely to be killed by those guns he owns as opposed to him using those guns to successfully defend his family.

The whole high school shooting thing is one of the reasons we decided to leave the US to start a family.

Not so much the chance of it actually happening (which although there is still relatively small) but the whole concept of 3-4 year olds having to do active shooter drills alongside playing in a sand pit and and reading books. That must leave some significant emotional scars on such young minds.

For those who are pointing out the lack of action from US politicians, this is what our own Prime Minister had to say in the wake of Dunblane and the proposed ban on handguns.

“Nanny is confiscating their toys. It is like one of those vast Indian programmes of compulsory vasectomy.”

Our own PM would comfortably fit in with the hard right psychotic nutjob wing of the Republicans in the US.

Boris Johnson handgun quote is real

25 MARCH 2021
WHAT WAS CLAIMED

Responding to new laws banning handguns in the wake of the Dunblane Massacre, Boris Johnson wrote “Nanny is confiscating their toys. It is like one of those vast Indian programmes of compulsory vasectomy.”
OUR VERDICT

True.
A post on Facebook claims that in the wake of the Dunblane Massacre and calls for the government to ban handguns that followed, then-journalist Boris Johnson wrote: “Nanny is confiscating their toys. It is like one of those vast Indian programmes of compulsory vasectomy.”

While fake quotes attributed to the Prime Minister are popular on social media, this one is genuine.

It’s unclear where and when exactly the article first appeared, but it was published or republished in the Canadian newspaper, the Calgary Herald in September 1997 and is credited to Boris Johnson and The Telegraph.

On 13 March 1996, a gunman murdered 16 children and one teacher at Dunblane Primary School near Stirling in Scotland, before killing himself.

Parliament subsequently passed legislation banning the private ownership of handguns in most cases, and offered payment to people who voluntarily surrendered their guns.

There was a quote from Trump when he was in power "we should arm the teachers, and they could shoot the he'll out of them "......frightening 😱

Ted Cruz today suggests that the obvious solution is to build schools with only one door and place heavily armed guards behind that door 🙄😔

I'm not a gun advocate, I've been to a shooting range in Florida which was interesting, though I'm absolutely for gun control.

But watching those scenes of parents being held back, the cops restraining them and doing nothing, you look back to the BLM riots where many of the police stood-by when property was being destroyed left, right and centre.

If I was living in America right now, I would be going out and buying a gun. Because it's crystal clear you're on your own over there, the cops cannot be relied on to protect you, your family or your property.

It's really sad.
