Expectations for this season

For me they were set high by Chuba’s streak and the loans of last season , as well as the league being unexpectedly poor for Luton to go up.
And unfortunately Carrick will be on a hiding to nothing for it. A victim of his own success.

Top 2 this season was never on the cards for me with Leicester Saints and the dirties coming down. Even top 6 for that matter.

Let’s focus on developing these young players and giving them time.

I never said this this time last year because it was plain to see Wilder didn’t want to be here. Carrick clearly does and has more affinity for the club.

I’m happy to give Carrick his first full season after the potential he has shown - and accept the ups and downs, as long as we stay in this league.

And lastly we might as well get Coburn in the team rather than loaning him to a team above us, unless we bring in a top marksman. Develop our own talent.

I think that's where we are whether we like it or not. Just have to be patient and see where the season takes us.

Unfortunately recent history is making fans very anxious, bit of a bad feeling of deja vu.
 
If it’s not on the cards then don’t say it. It just looks like bollox were spouted to sell a few more tickets.

After Carrick’s great season you’d think Gibbo would have backed him with some good acquisitions but not for the first time we’ve been let down. Therefore you could say the expectations are going to mirror our current performances which are rock bottom right now.
 
When Carrick said the top 2 as the aim I thought top 6. I suppose the next week will determine my thoughts for the rest of the season. Fine margins for me in all the games we have played. Chuba was massive for us last year and we are struggling a bit to adapt going forward.

Time will tell, the good thing is the acquisitions are all permanent.

Theres huge completancy and arrogance from the recruitment team to go down an exclusively project route and expect a positive outcome. Our position in the championship is in jeopardy unless we change to a more pragmatic approach
 
Mid table. Transition season. Hopefully the new signings improve and gel with each other. Push again next season.

Def need more steel in defence and central midfield for me. Overrun today by a team that looked bigger and stronger. Can’t remember us winning a 50/50 which can’t happen.
 
Trouble is on the evidence so far some of the new players aren't good enough.
Smith too slow.
Rodgers not good enough.
Silvera looks promising but maybe he's league one at best.
Keeper maybe OK but not got steffans presence
On top of that
Fry looks overrated, slow and lacks aggression.
Howson now too old.
Mcgree is a player when you're doing well, but gives the ball away too easily when up against it. A luxury player .
I think we're in a relegation battle for sure.
 
It's a tricky one at the moment. I can accept us being midtable this season but if we're still in the bottom 3 after 10 games I think panic will set in.

I'd like to see Carrick get until the midway point of the season at least but it's vital that we get that first win asap.
 
At the moment I just want us to stay in the game.

We go into games now and it almost feels like you can sense us throwing the game away early on.

I’m happy to allow the players to bed in and get going but we can’t do that when we gifting teams 2 goal leads.

Not if the don’t gel far better and progress far more than we have seen to date. But that couldn’t possibly happen now could it. The squad so far is lightweight and light years behind last seasons, I am shocked at how anyone can just shrug there shoulders and hope they all grow into seasoned quality footballers together. If that happened at the same time and we just missed out on promotion say, they’d probably all be sold and we’d be back to square one again.
