Nice bit of 'cod psychology' and you are right sometimes people do say stuff like that. But I will genuinely not be upset if England lose to France although I'm fully behind them and want to see them win. I can't even recall being affected when they lost to Italy in the Euro final, mild disappointment at getting so close and just falling short. That's why watching England at major tournaments is a nice indulgence for me, all the highs of winning but none of the lows when we lose.I often see it as a defence mechanism really if we get knocked out . Fair enough if people don’t genuinely care, but to me it’s easy to say “well I didn’t care anyway “ for some people when we go out so it seems it’s easier to cope
If England were to win the WC I'd be over the moon, of course, but I wouldn't blub like a baby like I did at Cardiff. The Boro just matter more. Anyhow I've sat and watched England win the World Cup live so its all a bit 'last year' .............. well 'last century'.
Edit: The way some on here were getting upset about Henderson being in the team goodness knows what they would have made of Nobby Stiles. Mind you Nobby would have sharp sorted Mbappe out.
