Engel

I'm happy to eat humble pie over Engel. I should know better than to judge a player based on 10 games but I thought he looked dreadful when he came.

He's since been inconsistent but there's definitely a player in there and I've judged him harshly.

I do think that chucking a lot of new players in, without any balancing, was a key reason for our dreadful start but he's looking better and better with each game.

He could prove to be a very good buy at the £2m we paid

Quality performance from the lad today. Some brilliant passing, good defending, and making a difference in the attacking third.

It’s getting to the point where we don’t miss Giles.

Well done 👍🏽
To be honest I haven't missed Giles at all, our most overrated player last season, 7/10 at going forward, but a very poor defender 2/10, hence why he is mostly on the bench for Luton, and why Wolves never played him, always loaned him out, and eventually sold him.
He will end up in the Championship, with or without Luton, and to think some on here wanted us to waste 5m on him.

Aye, great game today. Lost Quedrue-esque.
Decent player on our hands.
Have to admit, midway through the second half, looked like he gestured to the bench he was feeling his groin, thought he was going to come off.

He's getting better every week. I'd actually say he's already looking a bit of a bargain.

How much would Giles have cost us? 4-5mil and 30k+ week. Yet amazing going forward but a poor defender.

Engel is a bit of a 'happy medium' at a considerably less outlay.

He's come a long way from that 45mins at Sheff Wed. Although always though he was a scape goat. Everyone was awful that night.

He was horrific that night - the worst by a long way in a terrible game. He had some other awful games around the time too so let's not rewrite history.

The distance he's travelled since then is amazing though, I do agree.

Whats most noticeable with engel is he plays it with his first touch virtually every time no dawdling on the ball what so ever
