Engel

I found it strange when posters on here were saying he's no good defensively. What were they going on the Sheff Wed game?

"He used to be Sh*** but now he's alright" Karl Marx Engel.

Engel played well today and I like him. But he’s not Giles who was a massive attacking threat at championship level and a superb crosser of the ball. Too many times this season our threat has only been from the right side.

Totally surprised at how he’s turned out, it wasn’t that long ago, playing against Sheff wed when he was hauled off at half time, fans didn’t want to see him in a Boro shirt again, he was absolutely shyte that night.

Shout out to the recruitment team finding talent such as Engel and Rav on the cheap long may it continue.

Not sure I agree, he has put some brilliant balls in recently, especially the low variety. I think we still need to get the ball out to him more often.

The ability, or thought , to " just put it in first time " gives us something different from the left .
I'll be honest, I wrote him off ..
He looks 30% faster and fitter than his debut.
He's definitely got Pog vibes of cult hero .
Wild hair and would definitely put his head in any situation

He looks a solid 5th to 10th champ full back, and hats off to him for that comeback

Great performance today.
I hope he makes lots more "mistakes" and establishes himself in the squad as a quality player, developing his innate abilities and honing his skills under the watchful eye of the best Head Coach we've had in decades.

Engel is a vastly superior player to Giles IMO. Only one of them has a chance of making it as a PL player and it ain’t Giles.
Sorry, but do you want to qualify that?

You can see my view above and hopefully my ability to reflect on harsh judgement, but this seems like a wild statement. Giles was absolutely outstanding going forward, and my recollection (without reviewing stats) was that he had a ton of assists and was a massive danger.

Quite a few in the first half. Tried to kick ball for touch and conceded a needless corner. Totally missed the ball in their half and set up their attack. Poor header from a cross that went to their player just outside penalty area.
He had a very good second half though.

Seems a tad nitpicky. First one certainly was unlucky, the wind caught it
