Do some of you think you might be slightly over-reacting?

1. Do you think I work for mfc media team genuinely?

2. That’s his job isn’t it? Of course I’d expect that and I expect that he’s working on doing it right now.

3. That’s the beauty of being a supporter isn’t it? We can hold whatever views we like without losing our jobs or having to face up to the media week in week out.

Obviously Col we aren’t on the same train of thought here, in fact I realise i am in the minority.

My view in a nutshell is that it isn’t time to panic, I trust the process and I trust carrick to turn our fortunes around. 5 games is too soon for all of this negativity and writing our players off.
Firstly I understand your view and your right to express it. Secondly, criticising players, decisions, officials is not writing anyone off, that is a leap, although I accept I wrote Coulson off years ago and was shocked at his contract extension and remains written off to me.

I have no idea who you work for, nor care if you were an MFC employee or otherwise, there will be some who undoubtedly post on here for sure that are, nobody can be that naive to think otherwise. Your reasonably polite posting style, your 100% spin and attempts to sell a different positive vision so far distant from current reality, is something a struggling multi million pound organisations would try to do, as I know from personal experience in the work environment. Only you (and possibly admin) know the reality of your particular anonymous persona. I do note you haven’t once tried to suggest you don’t work for MFC, nor do you need to mind, as even if you said anything who knows its accuracy anyway 🤷‍♂️

You accept Carricks job and recognise he should be doing those things that people have picked up on, critically commented about on here, sometimes in the occasional industrial language, yet you accuse them of panicking unnecessarily, bedwetting you even said I think.

Is Carrick bedwetting or panicking too in identifying concerns, recognising problems and wanting to sort problems out and see change, demand improvement? You accuse posters of spouting negativity and other such heathen things when all people are doing is being critical, open and honest about their views, concern etc whilst wanting the same things Carrick and co are hopefully identifying whilst being paid to sort it out. He is no magician though, and he will struggle to make a silk purse from the sows ears he has been given. All we can do is hope for improvement, hard work and effort and that the team finally knits together to climb the league.

We are on a different train, why you respond as you do, only you know truly why. I support you being truly entitled to express your view and be how you are and say your piece despite not agreeing it. However, this being a football message board, lots do also go to the game, have eyes, are far from idiots (one or two excepted), people understand football very well and call a spade a spade. MFC is a big part of all our lives, lest anyone forgets (including club officials), the club is more important than any one individual to all of us.

When someone tries to make out they are seeing a topsy turvy completely different vision or we are seeing we are having the wool pulled over our eyes, it does stand out like a sore thumb. Everyone loves the club, wants success, not failure and knows when someone is selling us a pup, be that Gibson, Scott, Head coach, player or fellow poster.

I’m sure the whole recruitment team of the club knew that as most fans did.

I have no known of the club other than what I read on line and talk to friends and family.

Coburn almost certainly was going to Plymouth on loan this season. If Cannon actually went for £7 million to Leicester it really shows we can’t compete with the relegated teams this season.

Players like Rodgers et al are the ones we will have to work with and support.
the deal was Agreed.

I know how organisations work. I am suspicious of anyone that is only ever 100% positive or tries to continually spin reality. It is not a natural human trait unless there is a personal reason for doing so, I do doubt and question the validity of your constant spin given my knowledge of large internal organisations and media teams, I will leave you to it now and good luck in your efforts, over and out.

Come on Col, this isn't very welcoming. The board has a lot of different personalities and viewpoints, that's natural. It would be stranger if absolutely everyone on here had the exact same perspective on our league performances than it is for a few folk to not be as worried.

I have listened to Izzy’s interview, I don’t think as a club we are expecting to promote this season really, it would be a huge ask to bring 12 players in and expect instant success and would be very unrealistic and unfair on carrick and his team.

I believe that the club wanted Archer and Ramsey back but obviously that would be way too expensive as we’ve seen, I also believe we wanted to keep Akpom. Now that we haven’t retained our bought any of these players then expectations surely change?

We need to be flexible when it comes to expectation, the chances of automatic promotion with a whole new squad to gel is just unrealistic.
I accept all that as things stand. However, in doing so Izzy was clear and Carrick was to Izzy with his comment In the summer, so the goalposts have undoubtedly been moved, I doubt it was by Carrick and more likely by Gibson or Scott.

Plenty of posters were talking about hoping to get Archer, Giles, Ramsey back and extend Akpoms contract. I commented on here that I would be amazed if any of it were likely. I was pulled up on the word ‘amazed’ too. I think I said Archer was worth about £20M, Ramsey around £15M and Giles about £5M and so it proved roughly speaking. I said I thought lower prem clubs or the promoted teams would be daft not to sign them, If I knew it was so highly unlikely, so should the club have too, if they didn’t they were naive. I have no doubt they tried, be daft not to ask, but obviously baulked at the price, understandably out of our price range, but as a club they should have realised their worth and known it was as likely to happen as Heidi Klum knocking on my door to take me to lunch and therefore made other arrangements quickly.

We were once flying with an attack full of talent, expectations and hope was rightly high, replacing them with a team full of wannabees, time is clearly needed, patience is needed, but on a message board expecting people not to be truthful is also unrealistic. Can you personally guarantee the new signings will rapidly improve, can you or anyone guarantee we will not be a league 1 club next season or a Premier League club by 2026?

The answer is no. Seasons always go the same way, some people are always glass half full, some always glass half empty, then the bulk of others who I call the realists, they are critical when things are failing and praise when things are going well, calling what they see on a pitch. You don’t have to have played the game at a high level to be astute and knowledgeable. In fact many that have have proved failures. We can’t change how the season pans out, but as a paying customer i expect my voice to be listened to.

I know all that, i am not stupid, but if people do not believe that multi million pound organisations don’t infiltrate social media and use individuals occasionally anonymously to spin, then I’m lost for words, it would be naivety in the extreme to think they don’t, they don’t always advertise it openly with job titles, I should know having been personally directly involved in the past.

For the record, I'd like it to be known I don't work for Boro, but the idiot remark is subjective.

Anyhow, carry on 👍

Col they can't even get the match streaming on the website right, or the scoreboards in the ground. There's no way boro would successfully maintain a team of undercover media operatives posting propaganda on here.

Not worried about relegation yet but concerned weve conceded first in every league and cup game, not won at home for 6 games if include auxerre friendly. Also not won in last 9-10 )eague related matches includin playoffs. Plus mot looking anywhere like replac9ng 50+ goals weve lost from last season. All reasonable concerns i think.

A team? it only takes one employee and a couple of username accounts. Like I say I’ve been involved with companies that do it previously. Anyway carry on thinking what you wish stu,

Relegation is a ludicrous comment we won’t go down but that was not our aim this season.

I agree with Stu, col as we couldn’t run a bath let alone a media campaign although saying that I wondered where Roary had gone.

Can you imagine it

Interviewer….. Michael, after finishing 4th, being the second highest scorers in the league and just missing out on the play offs, what is your aim for the coming season?

MC….. Well, we’re trying to avoid relegation, anything else is a bonus.

It would have been comedy genius 🤣

Jones quote

"He said we've had a lot of people coming to our ground celebrating. We've had Burnley coming to our ground celebrating, we've had Coventry, use that as fuel for next season. He said next season we're going to aim for automatic promotion, not play-offs but more, and I think we can get it. If we can get the right signings in, why not."

I hear the comments about recruitment but we are in the position of not being able to offer wages never mind the transfer fees for top players and if we did we would probably go bust again.
There are plenty of clubs not in the premiership who are over reaching or have over reached(west brom for instance).
I hope these new players come good if not i will still support boro in league 1.
There are plenty of clubs with a similar budget to us in this division take a team like millwall for instance they wouldn't dream of putting all their transfer budget on project players with hardly any experience of the championship. Weve tried to be clever and gone for bigger risks with potentially more rewards but its completely backfired so far. Its like the recruitment in the summer of the Karanka promotion team when we brought in hardly any premier experience and took a massive gamble on the incoming players making the grade. People go on about latte coming good and getting goals what if he doesnt or what if he gets a long term injury we are absolutely fůcked theres no contingency for goals at all. Recruitment has been unnecessarily risky to the point of being negligent. If i was carrick i would be utterly ***ed off and would walk away hes been well and truely let down.

stop over reacting, they're not awful, people said exactly the same about Akpom and are now crying because we sold Akpom.

They are a work in progress. This might be one step back to take two steps forward, it might even be two steps back just due to the nature of the number of changes we have made, but there is clear talent in players like Latte Lath, Van Den Berg, Engel and Rogers but there are a lot on a steep learning curve right now....including the manager who has 10 months behind him and is learning about pragmatism, player experience, culture changes, etc. and how they impact results.
You can’t afford work in progress players starting every week with the gruelling nature of this league they are. That’s the reality. Silvera looks lost. He’s been thrown in the deep end. Rogers doesn’t look up to scratch Engle got torchured yesterday. How can you justify forss and mcgree on the bench for rogers and silvera?
