Djed Spence

£12.5m For Djed Spence?

Lumley - Steffen - Loan
Daniels - Roberts - Free
Hall - Lenihan - Free
Bamba - Greaves - £2.5m (1 year left)
Peltier - Aji Alese - "The Ameobi Money"
Spence - Smith - Free
Payero - Anderson - Loan
Siliki - Choudhury £4m (1 year left)
Coulson - Giles - Loan
Akpom - Armstrong - Loan
Ikpeazu - Muniz - £6m

I'd be happy with that!

THEN A MYSTERY STRIKER
From the Derby County Mel Morris Bonus, Man Utd Money, The Spurs Money.. all the leftovers.
I'd completely forgotten about James Lea Siliki until I read this. What a strange signing in retrospect.

We also received a 2022 loan fee for Spence and a separate Spence/Forest promotion bonus. But both of these have no bearing on his current worth as a England Under 21 player/Championship team of the year player.

Slightly less than the £15m most hoped for, but £13-14m? plus the Forest promotion money.....we are there.
So from 12 months ago where most fans would have gladly took £4-5m, to an extra £10m.....👍👍

I think the fact he has already been rejected by two respected clubs like Boro and Fulham plus Warnock going public about his concerns about attitude will mean that Spence will command less than he might have done had he come through the ranks at one club with a clean report.
Warnock banging on about his attitude might not have helped. Mind I doubt it was much of a secret anyway.

I don't think there's much doubt that if Spence was a model pro who'd just been on a steady upwards trajectory we'd probably have got much closer to £20m for him.

Most of us think it's a gamble for Spurs (albeit one they can afford to take). Spurs will have done their homework, they'll not be ignorant of his character. They'll know there's a risk there, hence a lower fee than you might expect compared to other young top championship players who have moved in recent years.

Think if we've got close to £15m and some add ones to take it higher that's a good deal and a fair price all things considered.

M uniz will be a loan, I think Fulham have faith in him but he isn't getting in right now.

Greaves, I think we offered around that and they want double

Choudhury, they might try and get Tav involved in any sale of him, which would worry me

Anything close to 15 Mill is good business I think.

Spence is limted at the moment in that he can only play as a WB which restricts which managers he can play for. Coupled with his potentially bad attitude and it is a bit of a gamble for Spurs but obviously they can afford a punt.

I doubt we will sell another player for around 15 mill again that pretty much all fans and everyone at the club are delighted to see the back of.

Yeah, his body language on the pitch didn't look all that great, but that might just be the way he is (sometimes things look bad when they aren't), apparently I give our lass dirty looks all the time, when I've never gave anyone a dirty look in my life  Who knows how he is behind the scenes, certainly not any of us  He might have just been a young lad, and just thought Warnock was a bit of an old dinosaur, but I suppose most young lads these days think like that, so he's only competing like for like.

I think £20m up front was always going to be a pipe dream mind, I even think £15m is over the odds. I think we've played a blinder for £12.5m, and don't expect to get many of the addons, but they would be welcome of course. I can't think of many LB/RB/LWB/RWB's who have gone for 20m, from the champo to prem, after one good season and a few average ones.

A supposed £10-20m player going on loan from one Championship Club aiming for promotion to another lower down the league is probably a first, from what I can think of, so that must ring some sort of alarm bells. Also the fact we didn't recall him after the good start, rings even more.

It's next to no risk to Spurs though, but not because they're wealthy. If they get him for £12-15m, then even if he doesn't play they will still be able to offload him for 75% of that. The only thing they're really losing out on is the opportunity cost, of being able to spend that on maybe someone else who is more proven. If he does well he'll cost them more in bonuses, but that won't bother them as they'll get more back to cover that.

Said it before, Hull are having a go this year spent a few quid and few of their fans i know really fancy themselves to at least get in the play offs so i cant see them shifting this Greaves lad on if he's that good they'll be building the side around players like him.

5 players to come, incl. Steffen and Muniz, so 3 more. We'll be sound. Just having a keeper and balance on the left with Giles will make such a massive difference.

They're subject to FFP like everyone else, not sure they'll be able to keep him and let him leave for free next year. With average attendances hovering around 12-13k for them, it's a real bind on their finances. I'm not sure I have much faith in their manager either.

They've lost their top 3 goal scorers Lewis-Potter, Honeyman and Eaves. The first 2 of those are massive losses for them. Replaced with a columbian who did OK in portugal and iranian who plays in turkey but hasn't done anything.

Tufan is a good signing but can he better Lewis-Potter in the champo? I think they'll come stronger second half, they lack a champ experienced spine to the side.

I get the FFP thing, just thinking with new owners, spending a few quid, fans are really on board and they have a feel good so the board and that are maybe thinking it is worth keeping him and trying to get up this year as that is worth more to them than half his market value now? It's a risk, but these new owners may see it as one worth taking. Who knows. I don't know the player, never heard of him but he seems to fit the bill CW wants so i hope we get him, just think it might be costly

Probably as good as we can realistically get for him. We’re a bit hamstrung as he’s made it clear he only wants to go to Spurs. Maybe we could have got 15M off Forest but the window is ticking before the season starts and we desperately need some strikers. Best this gets resolved before dragging on even longer!

It is what it is..let's get the unexpected windfall turned into goals and clean sheets....come on boro.....
Good luck djed.... at the end of the day its all about business and trying to do the best for yourself as an individual.
