Disappointed at our lack of signings pre season

5 incoming and 5 outgoings so far - with regards permanent signings

OK quality wise we are down slightly in my opinion, but we are not complete yet. I can see three more signings and 2 loans.

I have not incuded younger players coming through such as Wood, Hackney and Sivi
 
5 out then and 6 in, so the squad looks like it will be bigger than last season, which I think is important if we are to finish higher than 10th. An issue for me last season was too small a squad, particularly early on.

6 players have left & Fisher is out for the season so we're 7 down on last year with so far 6 new signings in.

I'm sure there will be a couple more in (and possibly out) before the month is over but unless NW is going to play the U23's more regularly the squad is not any better than last year, certainly in terms of depth.

We certainly need a striker and a left sided defender - possibly a goalkeeper

Archer, Johnson, Saville, Assombalonga, Fletcher - who is the 6th permanent one to go?

If you are counting injuries we have a number injured players back - even long term Brown will be back in October and he missed nearly all of last season.

The young ones mentioned look better than they did last season.

I agree some loans will come in - we had 3 last season and none as yet and probably aty least another permanent signing.

This time last season we had signed one player and one on loan.

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing.

We are also down on loan players, Bolasie & kabano so in reality the squad is even weaker. I don't class Bettenelli not being here as weakening the squad. :)

Ok - I did forget about NML, probably, because he only made 9 appearences and didn't seem fully fit.

6 in 6 out now, but still 4 weeks to go.

I surprised you don't think we will be stronger after say 3 new faces on top of the 6 new ones already in.

We may be stronger if we get enough new faces in to replace those who've gone, Bolasie, Kabano not replaced yet & we need more more as well.

Indeed 4 weeks to go, I reserve judgement until then but as it stands today the squad isn't better than last season.
 
The loan market has not really got going yet, especially for Premier League players - I am fairly confident we will pick replacements for Bolasie and Kebano.
 
Too much talk of quantity, not enough on quality. I'd like to see us cash in on McNair now and bring another quality forward in. We have better players than him in both midfield and defence but could do with another decent striker.

We don't want a big squad full of mediocrity with so many decent youngsters around the club to slot in as required.

You must be joking he's the only player we have who can take a decent set peice....he's invaluable !
